Jesus Heals the Crowds

29 (A)And departing from there, Jesus went along by (B)the Sea of Galilee, and having gone up on the mountain, He was sitting there. 30 And [a]large crowds came to Him, bringing with them those who were lame, crippled, blind, mute, and many others, and they laid them down at His feet; and (C)He healed them. 31 So the crowd marveled as they saw the mute speaking, the crippled [b]restored, and the lame walking, and the blind seeing; and they (D)glorified the God of Israel.

The Deaf Hear, the Mute Speak

31 (A)And again He went out from the region of (B)Tyre, and came through Sidon to (C)the Sea of Galilee, within the region of the (D)Decapolis. 32 And they *brought to Him one who was deaf and spoke with difficulty, and they *pleaded with Him to (E)lay His hand on him. 33 (F)And Jesus took him aside from the crowd, by himself, and put His fingers into his ears, and after (G)spitting, He touched his tongue; 34 and looking up to heaven with a (H)sigh, He *said to him, “Ephphatha!” that is, “Be opened!” 35 And his ears were opened, and the [a]impediment of his tongue [b]was removed, and he began speaking plainly. 36 And (I)He gave them orders not to tell anyone; but the more He was ordering them, the more widely they (J)continued to proclaim it. 37 And they were utterly astonished, saying, “He has done all things well; He makes even the deaf to hear and the mute to speak.”
