16 and (A)warned them not to [a]tell who He was. 17 This happened so that what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet would be fulfilled:

18 (B)Behold, My [b]Servant whom I [c]have chosen;
(C)My Beloved in whom My soul [d]delights;
(D)I will put My Spirit upon Him,
(E)And He will proclaim [e]justice to the [f]Gentiles.
19 (F)He will not quarrel, nor cry out;
Nor will anyone hear His voice in the streets.
20 (G)A bent reed He will not break off,
And a dimly burning wick He will not extinguish,
Until He [g]leads [h]justice to victory.
21 (H)And in His name the [i]Gentiles will hope.”

    and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out,
till he has brought justice through to victory.
