Tentazione nel deserto
4 Allora Gesù fu condotto dallo Spirito nel deserto per esser tentato dal diavolo. 2 E dopo aver digiunato quaranta giorni e quaranta notti, ebbe fame. 3 Il tentatore allora gli si accostò e gli disse: «Se sei Figlio di Dio, dì che questi sassi diventino pane». 4 Ma egli rispose: «Sta scritto:
Non di solo pane vivrà l'uomo,
ma di ogni parola che esce dalla bocca di Dio».
5 Allora il diavolo lo condusse con sé nella città santa, lo depose sul pinnacolo del tempio 6 e gli disse: «Se sei Figlio di Dio, gettati giù, poiché sta scritto:
Ai suoi angeli darà ordini a tuo riguardo,
ed essi ti sorreggeranno con le loro mani,
perché non abbia a urtare contro un sasso il tuo piede».
7 Gesù gli rispose: «Sta scritto anche:
Non tentare il Signore Dio tuo».
8 Di nuovo il diavolo lo condusse con sé sopra un monte altissimo e gli mostrò tutti i regni del mondo con la loro gloria e gli disse: 9 «Tutte queste cose io ti darò, se, prostrandoti, mi adorerai». 10 Ma Gesù gli rispose: «Vattene, satana! Sta scritto:
Adora il Signore Dio tuo
e a lui solo rendi culto».
11 Allora il diavolo lo lasciò ed ecco angeli gli si accostarono e lo servivano.
Ritorno in Galilea
12 Avendo intanto saputo che Giovanni era stato arrestato, Gesù si ritirò nella Galilea 13 e, lasciata Nazaret, venne ad abitare a Cafarnao, presso il mare, nel territorio di Zàbulon e di Nèftali, 14 perché si adempisse ciò che era stato detto per mezzo del profeta Isaia:
15 Il paese di Zàbulon e il paese di Nèftali,
sulla via del mare, al di là del Giordano,
Galilea delle genti;
16 il popolo immerso nelle tenebre
ha visto una grande luce;
su quelli che dimoravano in terra e ombra di morte
una luce si è levata.
17 Da allora Gesù cominciò a predicare e a dire: «Convertitevi, perché il regno dei cieli è vicino».
Chiamata dei primi quattro discepoli
18 Mentre camminava lungo il mare di Galilea vide due fratelli, Simone, chiamato Pietro, e Andrea suo fratello, che gettavano la rete in mare, poiché erano pescatori.
19 E disse loro: «Seguitemi, vi farò pescatori di uomini». 20 Ed essi subito, lasciate le reti, lo seguirono. 21 Andando oltre, vide altri due fratelli, Giacomo di Zebedèo e Giovanni suo fratello, che nella barca insieme con Zebedèo, loro padre, riassettavano le reti; e li chiamò. 22 Ed essi subito, lasciata la barca e il padre, lo seguirono.
Gesù insegna e guarisce
23 Gesù andava attorno per tutta la Galilea, insegnando nelle loro sinagoghe e predicando la buona novella del regno e curando ogni sorta di malattie e di infermità nel popolo. 24 La sua fama si sparse per tutta la Siria e così condussero a lui tutti i malati, tormentati da varie malattie e dolori, indemoniati, epilettici e paralitici; ed egli li guariva. 25 E grandi folle cominciarono a seguirlo dalla Galilea, dalla Decàpoli, da Gerusalemme, dalla Giudea e da oltre il Giordano.

4 وَقَادَ الرُّوحُ يَسُوعَ إلَى البَرِّيَّةِ، لِيُجَرَّبَ مِنْ إبْلِيسَ. 2 فَبَعْدَ أنِ امتَنَعَ يَسُوعُ عَنْ تَنَاوُلِ الطَّعَامِ أرْبَعِينَ نَهَارًا وَأرْبَعينَ لَيلَةً، جَاعَ. 3 فَجَاءَ إلَيْهِ المُجَرِّبُ[a] وَقَالَ لَهُ: «إنْ كُنْتَ ابْنَ اللهِ، فَقُلْ لِهَذِهِ الحِجَارَةِ أنْ تَصِيرَ أرْغِفَةَ خُبْزٍ.»
4 لَكِنَّ يَسُوعُ أجَابَهُ: «يَقُولُ الكِتَابُ:
‹لَا يَعِيشُ الإنْسَانُ عَلَى الخُبْزِ وَحْدَهُ.
بَلْ عَلَى كُلِّ كَلِمَةٍ تَخْرُجُ مِنْ فَمِ اللهِ.›»[b]
5 ثُمَّ أخَذَهُ إبْلِيسُ إلَى المَدِينَةِ المُقَدَّسَةِ، وَأوقَفَهُ عَلَى قِمَّةِ الهَيْكَلِ. 6 وَقَالَ لَهُ: «إنْ كُنْتَ حَقًّا ابْنَ اللهِ، فَارْمِ بِنَفْسِكَ مِنْ هُنَا. فَالكِتَابُ يَقُولُ:
‹يُوصِي اللهُ مَلَائِكَتَهُ بِكَ.›[c]
«وَبِأنَّهُمْ:
‹سَيَحْمِلُونَكَ عَلَى أيَادِيهِمْ،
لِئَلَّا تَرْتَطِمَ قَدَمُكَ بِحَجَرٍ.›»[d]
7 فَأجَابَهُ يَسُوعُ: «يَقُولُ الكِتَابُ أيْضًا:
‹لَا تَمْتَحِنِ الرَّبَّ إلَهَكَ.›»[e]
8 ثُمَّ أخَذَهُ إبْلِيسُ إلَى جَبَلٍ عَالٍ، وَعَرَضَ أمَامَ عَيْنَيْهِ كُلَّ مَمَالِكِ العَالَمِ وَعَظَمَتِهَا. 9 ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُ: «سَأُعْطِيكَ هَذِهِ كُلَّهَا إنْ سَجَدْتَ لِي.»
10 فَقَالَ لَهُ يَسُوعُ: «ابتَعِدْ يَا شَيطَانُ، فَالكِتَابُ يَقُولُ:
‹يَنْبَغِي أنْ تَعْبُدَ الرَّبَّ إلَهَكَ،
وَأنْ تَسْجُدَ لَهُ وَحْدَهُ.›»[f]
11 حَينَئِذٍ تَرَكَهُ إبْلِيسُ، وَجَاءَتِ المَلَائِكَةُ لِتَخْدِمَهُ.
يَسُوعُ يَبْدَأُ خِدْمَتَهُ فِي الجَلِيل

12 وَعِنْدَمَا سَمِعَ يَسُوعُ أنَّ يُوحَنَّا قَدِ اعتُقِلَ، رَجِعَ إلَى الجَلِيلِ. 13 وَلَكِنَّهُ لَمْ يَمْكُثْ فِي النَّاصِرَةِ، بَلْ ذَهَبَ وَسَكَنَ فِي مَدِينَةِ كَفْرِنَاحُومَ قُرْبَ بُحَيْرَةِ الجَلِيلِ فِي مِنطَقَتَي زَبُولُونَ وَنَفْتَالِي. 14 حَدَثَ هَذَا لِيَتِمَّ مَا قَالَهُ اللهُ عَلَى لِسَانِ إشَعْيَاءَ النَّبِيِّ:
15 «أرْضُ زَبُولُونَ وَنَفتَالِي،
طَرِيقُ البَحْرِ المُتَوَسِّطِ، عَبْرَ النَّهرِ،
أرْضُ الجَلِيلِ، حَيْثُ تَعِيشُ الأُمَمُ الغَرِيبَةُ.
16 الشَّعْبُ السَّاكِنُ فِي الظُّلْمَةِ رَأى نُورًا عَظِيمًا،
الجَالِسُونَ فِي أرْضِ ظِلَالِ المَوْتِ
أشرَقَ عَلَيْهِمْ نُورٌ.»[g]
17 مِنْ ذَلِكَ الوَقْتِ، ابتَدَأ يَسُوعُ يَعِظُ وَيَقُولُ: «تُوبُوا، لِأنَّ مَلَكُوتَ السَّمَاوَاتِ قَدِ اقْتَرَبَ.»
يَسُوعُ يَختَارُ بَعْضَ تَلَامِيذِه

18 وَبَيْنَمَا كَانَ يَسُوعُ يَسِيرُ عَلَى شَاطِئِ بُحَيْرَةِ الجَلِيلِ، رَأى أخَوَينِ هُمَا سِمْعَانُ الَّذِي يُدْعَى بُطْرُسَ أيْضًا، وَأخُوهُ أنْدَرَاوُسُ يُلقِيَانِ الشَّبَكَةَ فِي البُحَيرَةِ، فَقَدْ كَانَا صَيَّادَي سَمَكٍ. 19 فَقَالَ لَهُمَا: «اتبَعَانِي فَأجعَلَكُمَا صَيَّادَينِ لِلنَّاسِ.» 20 فَتَرَكَا شِبَاكَهُمَا حَالًا وَتَبِعَاهُ.
21 ثُمَّ انتَقَلَ يَسُوعُ مِنْ هُنَاكَ، فَرَأى أخَوَينِ آخَرَينِ، هُمَا يَعْقُوبُ ابْنُ زَبَدِي وَأخُوهُ يُوحَنَّا. رَآهُمَا فِي القَارِبِ مَعَ أبيهِمَا زَبَدِي يُصلِحُونَ شِبَاكَ الصَّيدِ، فَدَعَاهُمَا. 22 فَتَرَكَا القَارِبَ وَأبَاهُمَا حَالًا وَتَبِعَاهُ.
يَسُوعُ يُعَلِّمُ وَيَشْفِي

23 وَكَانَ يَسُوعُ يُسَافِرُ فِي كُلِّ إقْلِيمِ الجَلِيلِ، يُعَلِّمُ النَّاسَ فِي مَجَامِعِهِمْ مُعلِنًا بِشَارَةَ مَلَكوتِ اللهِ. وَكَانَ يَشْفِي كُلَّ الأمْرَاضِ وَالأسْقَامِ الَّتِي فِي النَّاسِ. 24 وَانتَشَرَتِ الأخْبَارُ عَنْهُ فِي كُلِّ بِلَادِ سُورِيَّةَ، فأحضَرُوا إلَيْهِ كُلَّ المَرْضَى المُصَابِينَ بِأمْرَاضٍ وَآلَامٍ مُخْتَلِفَةٍ، وَالمَسْكُونِينَ بَأرْوَاحٍ شِرِّيرَةٍ، وَالمُصَابِينَ بِالصَّرَعِ وَالمَشلُولِينَ، فَشَفَاهُمْ يَسُوعُ. 25 وَتَبِعَتْهُ جَمَاهِيرٌ كَبِيرَةٌ مِنَ النَّاسِ الَّذِينَ أتَوْا مِنَ إقْلِيمِ الجَلِيلِ، وَمِنَ المُدُنِ العَشْرِ وَمِنَ القُدْسِ، وَمِنْ إقْلِيمِ اليَهُودِيَّةِ، وَمِنَ الجَانِبِ الشَّرقيِّ مِنْ نَهْرِ الأُرْدُنِّ.

Jesus Is Tested in the Wilderness(A)
4 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted[a](B) by the devil.(C) 2 After fasting forty days and forty nights,(D) he was hungry. 3 The tempter(E) came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God,(F) tell these stones to become bread.”
4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’[b]”(G)
5 Then the devil took him to the holy city(H) and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. 6 “If you are the Son of God,”(I) he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written:
“‘He will command his angels concerning you,
and they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’[c]”(J)
7 Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’[d]”(K)
8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. 9 “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”
10 Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan!(L) For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’[e]”(M)
11 Then the devil left him,(N) and angels came and attended him.(O)
Jesus Begins to Preach
12 When Jesus heard that John had been put in prison,(P) he withdrew to Galilee.(Q) 13 Leaving Nazareth, he went and lived in Capernaum,(R) which was by the lake in the area of Zebulun and Naphtali— 14 to fulfill(S) what was said through the prophet Isaiah:
15 “Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali,
the Way of the Sea, beyond the Jordan,
Galilee of the Gentiles—
16 the people living in darkness
have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of the shadow of death
a light has dawned.”[f](T)
17 From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven(U) has come near.”
Jesus Calls His First Disciples(V)
18 As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee,(W) he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter(X) and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. 19 “Come, follow me,”(Y) Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” 20 At once they left their nets and followed him.(Z)
21 Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John.(AA) They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them, 22 and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.(AB)
Jesus Heals the Sick
23 Jesus went throughout Galilee,(AC) teaching in their synagogues,(AD) proclaiming the good news(AE) of the kingdom,(AF) and healing every disease and sickness among the people.(AG) 24 News about him spread all over Syria,(AH) and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed,(AI) those having seizures,(AJ) and the paralyzed;(AK) and he healed them. 25 Large crowds from Galilee, the Decapolis,[g] Jerusalem, Judea and the region across the Jordan followed him.(AL)
