20 «Il regno dei cieli infatti è simile a un padrone di casa, che di buon mattino uscí per prendere a giornata dei lavoratori e mandarli nella sua vigna.
2 Accordatosi con i lavoratori per un denaro al giorno, li mandò nella sua vigna.
3 Uscito poi verso l'ora terza, ne vide altri che stavano in piazza disoccupati.
4 E disse loro: "Andate anche voi nella vigna e io vi darò ciò che è giusto" Ed essi andarono.
5 Uscito di nuovo verso l'ora sesta e l'ora nona, fece altrettanto.
6 Uscito ancora verso l'undicesima ora, ne trovò altri che se ne stavano disoccupati e disse loro: "Perché ve ne state qui tutto il giorno senza far nulla?"
7 Essi gli dissero: "Perché nessuno ci ha presi a giornata" Egli disse loro: "Andate anche voi nella vigna e riceverete ciò che è giusto"
8 Poi fattosi sera, il padrone della vigna disse al suo fattore: "Chiama i lavoratori e paga loro il salario, cominciando dagli ultimi fino ai primi"
9 E, venuti quelli dell'undicesima ora, ricevettero ciascuno un denaro.
10 Quando vennero i primi, pensavano di ricevere di piú, ma ricevettero anch'essi un denaro per uno.
11 Nel riceverlo, mormoravano contro il padrone di casa,
12 dicendo: "Questi ultimi hanno lavorato solo un'ora, e tu li hai trattati come noi che abbiamo sopportato il peso e il caldo della giornata".
13 Ma egli, rispondendo, disse a uno di loro: "amico, io non ti faccio alcun torto; non ti sei accordato con me per un denaro?
14 Prendi ciò che è tuo e vattene; ma io voglio dare a quest'ultimo quanto a te.
15 Non mi è forse lecito fare del mio ciò che voglio? O il tuo occhio è cattivo, perché io sono buono?"
16 Cosí gli ultimi saranno primi e i primi ultimi, perché molti sono chiamati, ma pochi eletti».
17 Poi, mentre Gesú saliva a Gerusalemme, strada facendo, prese in disparte i dodici discepoli e disse loro:
18 «Ecco, noi saliamo a Gerusalemme e il Figlio dell'uomo sarà dato in mano dei capi dei sacerdoti e degli scribi, ed essi lo condanneranno a morte.
19 Lo consegneranno poi nelle mani dei gentili perché sia schernito, flagellato e crocifisso; ma il terzo giorno egli risusciterà».
20 Allora la madre dei figli di Zebedeo si accostò a lui con i suoi figli, si prostrò e gli chiese qualche cosa.
21 Ed egli le disse: «Che vuoi?». Ella rispose: «Ordina che questi miei due figli siedano l'uno alla tua destra e l'altro alla sinistra nel tuo regno».
22 E Gesú, rispondendo, disse: «Voi non sapete ciò che domandate, potete voi bere il calice che io sto per bere, ed essere battezzati del battesimo di cui io sarò battezzato?». Essi gli dissero: «Sí, lo possiamo».
23 Allora egli disse loro: «Voi certo berrete il mio calice e sarete battezzati del battesimo di cui io sarò battezzato; ma sedere alla mia destra o alla mia sinistra non sta a me concederlo, ma è riservato a coloro per i quali è stato preparato dal Padre mio».
24 All'udire ciò, gli altri dieci si indignarono contro i due fratelli.
25 E Gesú, chiamatili a sé, disse: «Voi sapete che i sovrani delle nazioni le signoreggiano e che i grandi esercitano il potere su di esse,
26 ma tra di voi non sarà così; anzi chiunque tra di voi vorrà diventare grande sia vostro servo;
27 e chiunque tra di voi vorrà essere primo a sia vostro schiavo.
28 Poiché anche il Figlio dell'uomo non è venuto per essere servito, ma per servire e per dare la sua vita come prezzo di riscatto per molti».
29 Mentre essi uscivano da Gerico, una grande folla li seguí.
30 Ed ecco, due ciechi che sedevano lungo la strada, avendo udito che Gesú passava, si misero a gridare dicendo: «Abbi pietà di noi, Signore, Figlio di Davide».
31 Ma la folla li sgridava perché tacessero; essi però gridavano ancora piú forte dicendo: «Abbi pietà di noi, Signore, Figlio di Davide!».
32 Allora Gesú, fermatosi, li chiamò e disse: «Che volete che io vi faccia?».
33 Essi gli dissero: «Signore, che i nostri occhi si aprano!».
34 E Gesú, mosso a pietà, toccò i loro occhi; e all'istante i loro occhi recuperarono la vista e lo seguirono.

20 “Ang kaharian ng langit ay katulad nito: May isang taong may-ari ng lupain, isang umaga, maaga siyang lumabas upang kumuha ng mauupahang mga manggagawa para sa kanyang ubasan. 2 Pagkatapos silang magkasundo ng mga manggagawa sa halagang isang denaryo sa isang araw, pinapunta niya ang mga ito sa kanyang ubasan. 3 At paglabas niya nang mag-iikasiyam ng umaga,[a] nakakita siya sa pamilihan ng ibang taong nakatayo lamang at walang ginagawa. 4 Sinabi niya sa kanila, ‘Pumunta rin kayo sa ubasan, at ibibigay ko sa inyo kung anuman ang nararapat.’ 5 At pumunta nga sila. Sa paglabas niyang muli nang magtatanghaling-tapat na[b] at nang ikatlo ng hapon,[c] ay ganoon din ang ginawa niya. 6 At nang malapit na ang ikalima ng hapon,[d] muli siyang lumabas at nakakita ng iba pang nakatayo. Sinabi niya sa kanila, ‘Bakit maghapon kayong nakatayo rito at walang ginagawa?’ 7 ‘Wala po kasing umuupa sa amin,’ sagot nila. Sinabi niya sa kanila, ‘Pumunta rin kayo sa ubasan.’ 8 (A) Papalubog na ang araw, nang sabihin ng may-ari ng ubasan sa kanyang katiwala, ‘Tawagin mo ang mga manggagawa, at ibigay mo sa kanila ang sahod nila, buhat sa mga nahuli hanggang sa mga nauna.’ 9 Nang lumapit ang mga nagsimulang magtrabaho nang mag-iikalima ng hapon, ang bawat isa sa kanila'y tumanggap ng isang denaryo. 10 At nang lumapit ang mga nauna, ang akala nila'y mas malaki ang kanilang matatanggap; ngunit tumanggap din silang lahat ng tig-iisang denaryo. 11 Pagkatapos nilang tanggapin ito ay nagreklamo sila sa may-ari ng lupain. 12 Sinabi nila, ‘Silang huling dumating ay isang oras lamang nagtrabaho, ngunit ang ibinayad mo sa kanila ay pareho lang ng sa amin na maghapong nagtiis ng hirap at matinding init.’ 13 Ngunit sumagot siya sa isa sa kanila, ‘Kaibigan, wala akong ginagawang masama sa iyo. Di ba't nakipagkasundo ka sa akin sa isang denaryo? 14 Kunin mo ang nauukol sa iyo at umalis ka na. Napagpasyahan kong ibigay sa huling manggagawa ang katulad ng ibinigay ko sa iyo. 15 Wala ba akong karapatang gawin ang naisin ko sa sarili kong lupain? O minamasama mo ba ang aking kabutihang-loob?’ 16 Kaya nga (B) ang hulí ay mauuna, at ang una ay máhuhulí.”[e]

17 Habang umaakyat si Jesus patungo sa Jerusalem, ibinukod niya ang labindalawang alagad, at sa daan ay sinabi niya sa kanila, 18 “Tandaan ninyo, umaahon tayo patungong Jerusalem at ang Anak ng Tao ay ipagkakanulo sa mga punong pari at sa mga tagapagturo ng Kautusan. At siya'y hahatulan nila ng kamatayan. 19 At siya'y ipauubaya nila sa mga Hentil upang hamakin, hagupitin, at ipako sa krus. Ngunit sa ikatlong araw, siya'y muling bubuhayin.”

20 Pagkatapos nito, lumapit kay Jesus ang ina ng mga anak na lalaki ni Zebedeo, kasama ang kanyang mga anak. Lumuhod siya sa harapan ni Jesus at may hiniling sa kanya. 21 Tanong ni Jesus sa kanya, “Ano ang nais mo?” Sagot ng babae, “Sabihin po ninyong itong dalawa kong anak na lalaki ay uupo sa inyong kaharian, ang isa sa inyong kanan, at ang isa naman ay sa kaliwa.” 22 Subalit sumagot si Jesus at sinabi, “Hindi ninyo nauunawaan ang inyong hinihiling. Kaya ba ninyong inuman ang kopa na malapit ko nang inuman?” Sagot nila, “Kaya po namin.” 23 Sinabi niya sa kanila, “Iinuman nga ninyo ang aking kopa, ngunit ang pag-upo sa aking kanan at sa aking kaliwa ay hindi ako ang magbibigay. Ito ay para sa kanila na pinaglaanan ng aking Ama.” 24 Nang ito'y marinig ng sampu pang alagad, nagalit sila sa magkapatid. 25 Subalit (E) tinawag sila ni Jesus at sa kanila'y sinabi, “Alam ninyong ang mga pinuno ng mga Hentil ay naghahangad na sila'y paglingkuran bilang mga panginoon ng kanilang nasasakupan, at ang mga taong nasa katungkulan ay nagsasamantala sa kanila gamit ang kapangyarihan. 26 Hindi (F) ganyan ang dapat mangyari sa inyo. Kundi ang sinuman sa inyo na naghahangad na maging dakila ay dapat maging lingkod ninyo. 27 At sinuman sa inyo na naghahangad na maging pangunahin ay dapat maging alipin ninyo, 28 kung paanong ang Anak ng Tao ay naparito hindi upang paglingkuran, kundi upang maglingkod, at upang ialay ang kanyang buhay bilang pantubos sa marami.”

29 Habang sila'y lumalabas sa Jerico ay sumunod sa kanya ang napakaraming tao. 30 May dalawang lalaking bulag na nakaupo sa tabing-daan. Nang marinig nilang nagdaraan si Jesus, sila'y nagsisigaw, “Maawa po kayo sa amin, Panginoon Anak ni David!” 31 Ngunit pinagsabihan sila ng mga tao upang sila'y tumahimik, ngunit lalo silang nagsisigaw sa pagsasabi, “Mahabag po kayo sa amin, Panginoon, Anak ni David!” 32 Tumigil si Jesus, at sila'y tinawag, at sinabi, “Ano'ng nais ninyong gawin ko sa inyo?” 33 Sinabi nila sa kanya, “Panginoon, buksan po ninyo ang aming mga mata.” 34 Nahabag sa kanila si Jesus at hinipo ang kanilang mga mata. Kaagad silang nakakitang muli, at pagkatapos, sumunod sila sa kanya.

The Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard
20 “For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard. 2 Now when he had agreed with the laborers for a denarius a day, he sent them into his vineyard. 3 And he went out about the third hour and saw others standing idle in the marketplace, 4 and said to them, ‘You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right I will give you.’ So they went. 5 Again he went out about the sixth and the ninth hour, and did likewise. 6 And about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing [a]idle, and said to them, ‘Why have you been standing here idle all day?’ 7 They said to him, ‘Because no one hired us.’ He said to them, ‘You also go into the vineyard, [b]and whatever is right you will receive.’
8 “So when evening had come, the owner of the vineyard said to his steward, ‘Call the laborers and give them their wages, beginning with the last to the first.’ 9 And when those came who were hired about the eleventh hour, they each received a denarius. 10 But when the first came, they supposed that they would receive more; and they likewise received each a denarius. 11 And when they had received it, they [c]complained against the landowner, 12 saying, ‘These last men have worked only one hour, and you made them equal to us who have borne the burden and the heat of the day.’ 13 But he answered one of them and said, ‘Friend, I am doing you no wrong. She said to Him, “Grant that these two sons of mine (P)may sit, one on Your right hand and the other on the left, in Your kingdom.”
22 But Jesus answered and said, “You do not know what you ask. Are you able to drink (Q)the cup that I am about to drink, [e]and be baptized with (R)the baptism that I am baptized with?”
They said to Him, “We are able.”
23 So He said to them, (S)“You will indeed drink My cup, [f]and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with; but to sit on My right hand and on My left is not Mine to give, but it is for those for whom it is prepared by My Father.”
24 (T)And when the ten heard it, they were greatly displeased with the two brothers. 25 But Jesus called them to Himself and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. 26 Yet (U)it shall not be so among you; but (V)whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. 27 (W)And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave— 28 (X)just as the (Y)Son of Man did not come to be served, (Z)but to serve, and (AA)to give His life a ransom (AB)for many.”
Two Blind Men Receive Their Sight(AC)
29 (AD)Now as they went out of Jericho, a great multitude followed Him. 30 And behold, (AE)two blind men sitting by the road, when they heard that Jesus was passing by, cried out, saying, “Have mercy on us, O Lord, (AF)Son of David!”
31 Then the multitude (AG)warned them that they should be quiet; but they cried out all the more, saying, “Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David!”
32 So Jesus stood still and called them, and said, “What do you want Me to do for you?”
33 They said to Him, “Lord, that our eyes may be opened.” 34 So Jesus had (AH)compassion and touched their eyes. And immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed Him.
