⁶ But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—he then said to the paralytic—“Rise, pick up your bed and go home.”

⁵ For which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Rise and walk’?

¹⁰ Anyone whom you forgive, I also forgive. Indeed, what I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, has been for your sake in the presence of Christ,

²¹ Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As ^(A)the Father has sent me, ^(B)even so I am sending you.” ²² And when he had said this, he ^(C)breathed on them and said to them, ^(D)“Receive the Holy Spirit. ^23 (E)If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you withhold forgiveness from any, it is withheld.”

²¹ For as the Father ^(A)raises the dead and ^(B)gives them life, so ^(C)also the Son gives life ^(D)to whom he will. ^22 (E)For the Father judges no one, but ^(F)has given all judgment to the Son, ²³ that all may honor the Son, just as they ^(G)honor the Father. ^(H)Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.

^13 (A)bearing with one another and, ^(B)if one has a complaint against another, ^(C)forgiving each other; ^(D)as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.

^32 (A)Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, ^(B)forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

²⁰ Therefore, ^(A)we are ambassadors for Christ, ^(B)God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

³⁴ And Peter said to him, “Aeneas, ^(A)Jesus Christ heals you; rise and make your bed.” And immediately he rose.
