^19 (A)Therefore whoever relaxes ^(B)one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least ^(C)in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great ^(D)in the kingdom of heaven.

^32 [a] “Everything that I command you, you shall be careful to do. ^(A)You shall not add to it or take from it.

¹⁰ For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point ^(A)has become guilty of all of it. ¹¹ For he who said, ^(B)“Do not commit adultery,” also said, ^(C)“Do not murder.” If you do not commit adultery but do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law.

²⁰ teaching them ^(A)to observe all that ^(B)I have commanded you. And behold, ^(C)I am with you always, to ^(D)the end of the age.”

Fulfilling the Law Through Love

^8 (A)Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for ^(B)the one who loves another has fulfilled the law. ⁹ For the commandments, ^(C)“You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and any other commandment, are summed up in this word: ^(D)“You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” ¹⁰ Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore ^(E)love is the fulfilling of the law.

¹¹ Truly, I say to you, among those born of women there has arisen no one greater than John the Baptist. Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

¹⁴ For ^(A)the whole law is fulfilled in one word: ^(B)“You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” ¹⁵ But if you ^(C)bite and devour one another, watch out that you are not consumed by one another.

Keep in Step with the Spirit

¹⁶ But I say, ^(D)walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify ^(E)the desires of the flesh. ¹⁷ For ^(F)the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, ^(G)to keep you from doing the things you want to do. ¹⁸ But if you are ^(H)led by the Spirit, ^(I)you are not under the law. ¹⁹ Now ^(J)the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, ²⁰ idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, ^(K)divisions, ²¹ envy,^[a] drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that ^(L)those who do^[b] such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. ²² But ^(M)the fruit of the Spirit is ^(N)love, joy, peace, patience, ^(O)kindness, goodness, faithfulness, ^23 (P)gentleness, ^(Q)self-control; ^(R)against such things there is no law. ²⁴ And those who belong to Christ Jesus ^(S)have crucified the flesh with its ^(T)passions and desires.

⁸ The saying is ^(A)trustworthy, and I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed in God may be careful ^(B)to devote themselves to good works. These things are excellent and profitable for people.

³ If anyone ^(A)teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with ^(B)the sound^[a] words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching ^(C)that accords with godliness, ^4 (D)he is puffed up with conceit and ^(E)understands nothing. He has an unhealthy craving for ^(F)controversy and for ^(G)quarrels about words, which produce envy, dissension, slander, evil suspicions,
