^8 (A)Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.

Do Not Love the World

^15 (A)Do not love the world or the things in the world. ^(B)If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. ¹⁶ For all that is in the world—^(C)the desires of the flesh and ^(D)the desires of the eyes and pride of life^[a]—is not from the Father but is from the world.

²⁶ For ^(A)what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or ^(B)what shall a man give in return for his soul?

The Seventh Trumpet

¹⁵ Then ^(A)the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and ^(B)there were loud voices in heaven, saying, ^(C)“The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of ^(D)his Christ, and ^(E)he shall reign forever and ever.”

^5 (A)And the devil took him up and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time, ⁶ and said to him, “To you ^(B)I will give all this authority and their glory, ^(C)for it has been delivered to me, and I give it to whom I will. ⁷ If you, then, will worship me, it will all be yours.”

²⁴ By faith Moses, when he was grown up, ^(A)refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, ^25 (B)choosing rather to be mistreated with the people of God than to enjoy ^(C)the fleeting pleasures of sin. ^26 (D)He considered the reproach of Christ greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking to ^(E)the reward.
