^54 (A)When the centurion and those who were with him, ^(B)keeping watch over Jesus, saw the earthquake and what took place, they were filled with awe and said, ^(C)“Truly this was the Son^[a] of God!”

^39 (A)And when the centurion, who stood facing him, saw that in this way he^[a] breathed his last, he said, ^(B)“Truly this man was the Son^[b] of God!”

³⁶ Then they sat down and ^(A)kept watch over him there.

^43 (A)He trusts in God; let God deliver him now, if he desires him. For he said, ‘I am the Son of God.’”

⁴⁷ Now ^(A)when the centurion saw what had taken place, ^(B)he praised God, saying, “Certainly this man was innocent!” ⁴⁸ And all the crowds that had assembled for this spectacle, when they saw what had taken place, returned home ^(C)beating their breasts. ⁴⁹ And all ^(D)his acquaintances and ^(E)the women who had followed him from Galilee ^(F)stood at a distance watching these things.

⁴³ But the centurion, ^(A)wishing to save Paul, kept them from carrying out their plan. He ordered those who could swim to jump overboard first and make for the land,

27 And when it was decided ^(A)that ^(B)we should sail for Italy, they delivered Paul and some other prisoners to a centurion of the Augustan ^(C)Cohort named Julius.

^32 (A)He at once took soldiers and centurions and ran down to them. And when they saw the tribune and the soldiers, they stopped beating Paul.
