The Shepherd Struck

³² Behold, ^(A)the hour is coming, indeed it has come, when ^(B)you will be scattered, each to his own home, and ^(C)will leave me alone. ^(D)Yet I am not alone, for the Father is with me.

^50 (A)And they all left him and fled.

A Young Man Flees

⁵¹ And a young man followed him, with nothing but ^(B)a linen cloth about his body. And they seized him, ⁵² but he left the linen cloth and ran away naked.

³¹ Then Jesus said to them, “You will all fall away because of me this night. For it is written, ‘I will ^(A)strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’

^54 (A)But how then should the Scriptures be fulfilled, that it must be so?”

¹⁶ At my first defense no one came to stand by me, but all deserted me. ^(A)May it not be charged against them!

Peter Denies Jesus

^15 (A)Simon Peter followed Jesus, and so did another disciple. Since that disciple was known to the high priest, he entered with Jesus into the courtyard of the high priest, ^16 (B)but Peter stood outside at the door. So the other disciple, who was known to the high priest, went out and spoke to the servant girl who kept watch at the door, and brought Peter in.
