^34 (A)Jesus said to him, “Truly, I tell you, this very night, ^(B)before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.”

³⁸ Jesus answered, “Will you lay down your life for me? Truly, truly, I say to you, ^(A)the rooster will not crow till you have denied me three times.

^34 (A)Jesus^[a] said, “I tell you, Peter, the rooster will not crow this day, until you deny three times that you know me.”

⁷⁵ And Peter remembered the saying of Jesus, ^(A)“Before the rooster crows, you will ^(B)deny me three times.” And he went out and wept bitterly.

³⁰ And ^(A)Jesus said to him, “Truly, I tell you, this very night, before ^(B)the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.” ³¹ But ^(C)he said emphatically, “If I must die with you, I will not deny you.” And they all said the same.
