^4 (A)Again he sent other servants, saying, ‘Tell those who are invited, “See, I have prepared my ^(B)dinner, ^(C)my oxen and my fat calves have been slaughtered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding feast.”’

⁴⁶ And Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly, saying, “It was necessary that the word of God ^(A)be spoken first to you. ^(B)Since you thrust it aside and judge yourselves ^(C)unworthy of eternal life, behold, we ^(D)are turning to the Gentiles.

^36 (A)Again he sent other servants, more than the first. And they did the same to them.

⁷ Cleanse out the old leaven that you may be a new lump, as you really are unleavened. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. ⁸ Let us therefore celebrate the festival, ^(A)not with the old leaven, ^(B)the leaven of malice and evil, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

^32 (A)He who did not spare his own Son but ^(B)gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?

Paul in Rome

¹⁷ After three days he called together the local leaders of the Jews, and when they had gathered, he said to them, “Brothers, ^(A)though I had done nothing against our people or ^(B)the customs of our fathers, yet I was delivered as a prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans. ¹⁸ When they had examined me, they ^(C)wished to set me at liberty, ^(D)because there was no reason for the death penalty in my case. ¹⁹ But because the Jews objected, I was compelled ^(E)to appeal to Caesar—though I had no charge to bring against ^(F)my nation. ²⁰ For this reason, therefore, I have asked to see you and speak with you, since it is ^(G)because of ^(H)the hope of Israel that I am wearing ^(I)this ^(J)chain.” ²¹ And they said to him, “We have received no letters from Judea about you, and none of ^(K)the brothers coming here has reported or spoken any evil about you. ²² But we desire to hear from you what your views are, for with regard to this ^(L)sect we know that everywhere ^(M)it is spoken against.”

²³ When they had appointed a day for him, they came to him at his lodging in greater numbers. From morning till evening ^(N)he expounded to them, testifying to ^(O)the kingdom of God and ^(P)trying to convince them about Jesus ^(Q)both from the Law of Moses and from the Prophets. ²⁴ And ^(R)some were convinced by what he said, but others disbelieved. ²⁵ And disagreeing among themselves, they departed after Paul had made one statement: ^(S)“The Holy Spirit was right in saying to your fathers through Isaiah the prophet:

²⁸ Therefore let it be known to you that ^(X)this ^(Y)salvation of God ^(Z)has been sent to the Gentiles; ^(AA)they will listen.”^[a]

³⁰ He lived there two whole years at his own expense,^[b] and ^(AB)welcomed all who came to him, ^31 (AC)proclaiming ^(AD)the kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ ^(AE)with all boldness and ^(AF)without hindrance.

The Church in Antioch

^19 (A)Now those who were scattered because of the persecution that arose over Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia and Cyprus and Antioch, speaking the word to no one except Jews. ²⁰ But there were some of them, men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who on coming to Antioch spoke to the Hellenists^[a] also, ^(B)preaching the Lord Jesus.

⁸ But you will receive ^(A)power ^(B)when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and ^(C)you will be ^(D)my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and ^(E)Samaria, and ^(F)to the end of the earth.”

^50 (A)This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that one may eat of it ^(B)and not die. ⁵¹ I am the living bread ^(C)that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give ^(D)for the life of the world is ^(E)my flesh.”

⁵² The Jews then ^(F)disputed among themselves, saying, ^(G)“How can this man give us his flesh to eat?” ⁵³ So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of ^(H)the Son of Man and drink his blood, you ^(I)have no life in you. ⁵⁴ Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood ^(J)has eternal life, and ^(K)I will raise him up on the last day. ⁵⁵ For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. ⁵⁶ Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood ^(L)abides in me, and I in him. ⁵⁷ As ^(M)the living Father ^(N)sent me, and ^(O)I live because of the Father, so whoever feeds on me, he also will live because of me.
