⁶ And ^(A)about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing. And he said to them, ‘Why do you stand here idle all day?’

¹² so that you may not be sluggish, but ^(A)imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

⁴ We must ^(A)work the works of him who sent me ^(B)while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work.

²¹ Now all the Athenians and the foreigners who lived there would spend their time in nothing except telling or hearing something new.

⁴⁰ But the other rebuked him, saying, “Do you not fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? ⁴¹ And we indeed justly, for we are receiving the due reward of our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.” ⁴² And he said, “Jesus, remember me ^(A)when you come into your kingdom.” ⁴³ And he said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in ^(B)paradise.”

⁴⁹ Behold, this was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had pride, ^(A)excess of food, and prosperous ease, but did not aid the poor and needy.

¹⁰ Whatever your hand finds to do, ^(A)do it with your might,^{[a] (B)}for there is no work or thought or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol, to which you are going.
