³⁴ And Jesus in pity touched their eyes, and immediately they recovered their sight and followed him.

¹⁵ For we do not have a high priest ^(A)who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been ^(B)tempted as we are, ^(C)yet without sin. ^16 (D)Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

^18 (A)to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from ^(B)the power of Satan to God, that they may receive ^(C)forgiveness of sins and ^(D)a place among those who are sanctified ^(E)by faith in me.’

Suffering for Righteousness' Sake

⁸ Finally, all of you, ^(A)have unity of mind, sympathy, ^(B)brotherly love, ^(C)a tender heart, and ^(D)a humble mind.

³³ When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come with her also weeping, he ^(A)was deeply moved^[a] in his spirit and ^(B)greatly troubled. ³⁴ And he said, “Where have you laid him?” They said to him, “Lord, come and see.” ^35 (C)Jesus wept.

⁵¹ But Jesus said, “No more of this!” And he touched his ear and healed him.

¹³ And when the Lord saw her, ^(A)he had compassion on her and ^(B)said to her, “Do not weep.”

³³ And ^(A)taking him aside from the crowd privately, he put his fingers into his ears, and ^(B)after spitting touched his tongue.

Jesus Feeds the Four Thousand

^32 (A)Then Jesus called his disciples to him and said, ^(B)“I have compassion on the crowd because they have been with me now three days and have nothing to eat. And I am unwilling to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way.”

¹⁴ When he went ashore he ^(A)saw a great crowd, and ^(B)he had compassion on them and healed their sick.
