Peter and His Master Pay Their Taxes

^24 (A)When they had come to ^[a]Capernaum, those who received the ^[b]temple tax came to Peter and said, “Does your Teacher not pay the temple tax?”

^26 (A)a bekah for ^[a]each man (that is, half a shekel, according to the shekel of the sanctuary), for everyone included in the numbering from twenty years old and above, for ^(B)six hundred and three thousand, five hundred and fifty men.

^13 (A)This is what everyone among those who are numbered shall give: half a shekel according to the shekel of the sanctuary ^(B)(a shekel is twenty gerahs). ^(C)The half-shekel shall be an offering to the Lord.
