⁴³ Then the righteous will shine like the sun^(A) in the kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears, let them hear.^(B)

³ Those who are wise^[a](A) will shine^(B) like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness,^(C) like the stars for ever and ever.^(D)

⁴¹ The sun has one kind of splendor,^(A) the moon another and the stars another;^(B) and star differs from star in splendor.

⁴² So will it be^(C) with the resurrection of the dead.^(D) The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable;^{(E) 43} it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory;^(F) it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; ⁴⁴ it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.^(G)

If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. ⁴⁵ So it is written: “The first man Adam became a living being”^[a];^(H) the last Adam,^(I) a life-giving spirit.^{(J) 46} The spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and after that the spiritual.^{(K) 47} The first man was of the dust of the earth;^(L) the second man is of heaven.^{(M) 48} As was the earthly man, so are those who are of the earth; and as is the heavenly man, so also are those who are of heaven.^{(N) 49} And just as we have borne the image of the earthly man,^(O) so shall we^[b] bear the image of the heavenly man.^(P)

⁵⁰ I declare to you, brothers and sisters, that flesh and blood^(Q) cannot inherit the kingdom of God,^(R) nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.^{(S) 51} Listen, I tell you a mystery:^(T) We will not all sleep,^(U) but we will all be changed^(V)— ⁵² in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound,^(W) the dead^(X) will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. ⁵³ For the perishable^(Y) must clothe itself with the imperishable,^(Z) and the mortal with immortality. ⁵⁴ When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”^[c](AA)

³² “Do not be afraid,^(A) little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom.^(B)

³⁴ “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom^(A) prepared for you since the creation of the world.^(B)

¹⁵ Whoever has ears, let them hear.^(A)

²² I did not see a temple^(A) in the city, because the Lord God Almighty^(B) and the Lamb^(C) are its temple. ²³ The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God^(D) gives it light,^(E) and the Lamb^(F) is its lamp.

³ And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them.^(A) They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.^{(B) 4} ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes.^(C) There will be no more death’^[a](D) or mourning or crying or pain,^(E) for the old order of things has passed away.”^(F)

⁵ He who was seated on the throne^(G) said, “I am making everything new!”^(H) Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”^(I)

⁵ Listen, my dear brothers and sisters:^(A) Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world^(B) to be rich in faith^(C) and to inherit the kingdom^(D) he promised those who love him?^(E)
