⁵⁰ For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”^(A)

²¹ But he said to them, “My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and do it.”^(A)

³⁵ Whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother.”

¹⁴ You are my friends if you do what I command you.^(A)

¹¹ For the one who sanctifies and those who are sanctified all have one Father.^[a] For this reason Jesus^[b] is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters,^{(A) 12} saying,

¹⁴ Since, therefore, the children share flesh and blood, he himself likewise shared the same things, so that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil,^{(D) 15} and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by the fear of death.^{(E) 16} For it is clear that he did not come to help angels but the descendants of Abraham. ¹⁷ Therefore he had to become like his brothers and sisters in every respect, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make a sacrifice of atonement for the sins of the people.^(F)

²⁹ Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.”^(A)

True Blessedness

²⁷ While he was saying this, a woman in the crowd raised her voice and said to him, “Blessed is the womb that bore you and the breasts that nursed you!”^{(A) 28} But he said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it!”^(B)

¹⁰ Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers and sisters to go to Galilee; there they will see me.”^(A)

²³ And this is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he has commanded us.^{(A) 24} All who obey his commandments abide in him, and he abides in them. And by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit that he has given us.^(B)

²¹ Therefore rid yourselves of all sordidness and rank growth of wickedness, and welcome with meekness the implanted word that has the power to save your souls.^(A)

²² But be doers of the word and not merely hearers who deceive themselves.^(B)
