⁴⁹ And pointing to his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers!

³⁴ And looking at those who sat around him, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers!

¹⁷ Jesus said to her, “Do not touch me, because I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’ ”^{(A) 18} Mary Magdalene went and announced to the disciples, “I have seen the Lord,” and she told them that he had said these things to her.^(B)

Jesus Appears to the Disciples

¹⁹ When it was evening on that day, the first day of the week, and the doors were locked where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you.”^{(C) 20} After he said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord.^(D)

²⁰ “I ask not only on behalf of these but also on behalf of those who believe in me through their word,

⁸ for the words that you gave to me I have given to them, and they have received them and know in truth that I came from you, and they have believed that you sent me.^{(A) 9} I am asking on their behalf; I am not asking on behalf of the world but on behalf of those whom you gave me, because they are yours.^(B)

⁷ Then go quickly and tell his disciples, ‘He has been raised from the dead,^[a] and indeed he is going ahead of you to Galilee; there you will see him.’ This is my message for you.”^(A)
