Jesus' Mother and Brothers

⁴⁶ While he was still speaking to the people, behold, ^(A)his mother and his ^(B)brothers^[a] stood outside, asking to speak to him.^[b]

^55 (A)Is not this ^(B)the carpenter's son? Is not his mother called Mary? And are not ^(C)his brothers James and Joseph and Simon and Judas?

^5 (A)For not even ^(B)his brothers believed in him.

^3 (A)So his brothers^[a] said to him, “Leave here and go to Judea, that your disciples also may see the works you are doing.

¹² After this he went down to Capernaum, with his mother and ^(A)his brothers^[a] and his disciples, and they stayed there for a few days.

¹⁴ All these ^(A)with one accord ^(B)were devoting themselves to prayer, together with ^(C)the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and ^(D)his brothers.^[a]

^19 (A)Then his mother and ^(B)his brothers^[a] came to him, but they could not reach him because of the crowd. ²⁰ And he was told, “Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, desiring to see you.” ²¹ But he answered them, “My mother and my brothers are those ^(C)who hear the word of God and do it.”

^3 (A)Is not this ^(B)the carpenter, the son of Mary and ^(C)brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? And are not his sisters here with us?” And ^(D)they took offense at him.

^31 (A)And his mother and his ^(B)brothers came, and standing outside they sent to him and called him. ³² And a crowd was sitting around him, and they said to him, “Your mother and your brothers^[a] are outside, seeking you.” ³³ And he answered them, “Who are my mother and my brothers?” ³⁴ And ^(C)looking about at those who sat around him, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! ^35 (D)For whoever ^(E)does the will of God, he is my brother and sister and mother.”
