¹² And after they were brought to Babylon, ^(A)Jeconiah begot Shealtiel, and Shealtiel begot ^(B)Zerubbabel.

The Family of Jeconiah

¹⁷ And the sons of ^[a]Jeconiah ^[b]were Assir, Shealtiel ^(A)his son,

² Then ^[a]Jeshua the son of ^(A)Jozadak^[b] and his brethren the priests, ^(B)and Zerubbabel the son of ^(C)Shealtiel and his brethren, arose and built the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt offerings on it, as it is ^(D)written in the Law of Moses the man of God.

²⁷ the son of Joannas, the son of Rhesa, the son of ^(A)Zerubbabel, the son of Shealtiel, the son of Neri,

¹⁴ So ^(A)the Lord stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, ^(B)governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; ^(C)and they came and worked on the house of the Lord of hosts, their God,

¹⁹ The sons of Pedaiah were Zerubbabel and Shimei. The sons of Zerubbabel were Meshullam, Hananiah, Shelomith their sister, ²⁰ and Hashubah, Ohel, Berechiah, Hasadiah, and Jushab-Hesed—five in all.

²¹ The sons of Hananiah were Pelatiah and Jeshaiah, the sons of Rephaiah, the sons of Arnan, the sons of Obadiah, and the sons of Shechaniah. ²² The son of Shechaniah was Shemaiah. The sons of Shemaiah were ^(A)Hattush, Igal, Bariah, Neariah, and Shaphat—six in all. ²³ The sons of Neariah were Elioenai, Hezekiah, and Azrikam—three in all. ²⁴ The sons of Elioenai were Hodaviah, Eliashib, Pelaiah, Akkub, Johanan, Delaiah, and Anani—seven in all.

²³ ‘In that day,’ says the Lord of hosts, ‘I will take you, Zerubbabel My servant, the son of Shealtiel,’ says the Lord, ^(A)‘and will make you like a signet ring; for ^(B)I have chosen you,’ says the Lord of hosts.”

² “Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and to the remnant of the people, saying:

The People’s Obedience

^12 (A)Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the Lord their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet, as the Lord their God had sent him; and the people feared the presence of the Lord.
