^41 (A)The one who receives a prophet because he is a prophet will receive a prophet's reward, and the one who receives a righteous person because he is a righteous person will receive a righteous person's reward.

Support and Opposition

⁵ Beloved, it is a faithful thing you do in all your efforts for ^(A)these brothers, ^(B)strangers as they are, ⁶ who testified to your love before the church. You will do well to send them on their journey in a manner ^(C)worthy of God. ⁷ For they have gone out for the sake of ^(D)the name, ^(E)accepting nothing from the Gentiles. ⁸ Therefore we ought to support people like these, that we may be fellow workers for the truth.

¹⁶ And he said, “At this season, ^(A)about this time next year, you shall embrace a son.” And she said, “No, my lord, ^(B)O man of God; ^(C)do not lie to your servant.” ¹⁷ But the woman conceived, and she bore a son about that time ^(D)the following spring, as Elisha had said to her.

¹⁰ For ^(A)God is not unjust so as to overlook ^(B)your work and the love that you have shown for his name in ^(C)serving the saints, as you still do.

Elisha and the Shunammite Woman

⁸ One day Elisha went on to ^(A)Shunem, where a ^(B)wealthy woman lived, who urged him to eat some food. So whenever he passed that way, he would turn in there to eat food. ⁹ And she said to her husband, “Behold now, I know that this is a holy ^(C)man of God who is continually passing our way. ¹⁰ Let us make a small room on the roof with walls and put there for him a bed, a table, a chair, and a lamp, so that whenever he comes to us, he can go in there.”
