4 Atëherë Fryma e çoi Jezusin në shkretëtirë, që djalli ta tundonte.
2 Dhe, mbasi agjëroi dyzet ditë e dyzet net, në fund e mori uria.
3 Atëherë tunduesi, pasi iu afrua, i tha: “Në qoftë se je Biri i Perëndisë, thuaj që këta gurë të bëhen bukë.”
4 Por ai, duke iu përgjigjur, tha: “Éshtë shkruar: "Njeriu nuk rron vetëm me bukë, por me çdo fjalë që del nga goja e Perëndisë".”
5 Atëherë djalli e çoi në qytetin e shenjtë dhe e vendosi në majë të tempullit
6 dhe i tha: “Nëse je Biri i Perëndisë, hidhu poshtë, sepse është shkruar: Ai do t’u japë urdhër engjëjve të tij për ty; edhe ata do të mbajnë mbii duart e tyre që të mos ndeshësh me këmbën tënde ndonjë gur".”
7 Jezusi i tha: “Éshtë shkruar gjithashtu: "Mos e tundo Zotin, Perëndinë tënd".”
8 Djalli e çoi sërish mbi një mal shumë të lartë dhe i tregoi të gjitha mbretëritë e botës dhe lavdinë e tyre,
9 dhe i tha: “Unë do të t’i jap të gjitha këto, nëse ti bie përmbys para meje dhe më adhuron.”
10 Atëherë Jezusi i tha: “Shporru, Satan, sepse është shkruar: "Adhuro Zotin, Perëndinë tënde, dhe shërbeji vetëm atij".”
11 Atëherë djalli e la; dhe ja, u afruan engjëjt dhe i shërbenin.
12 Jezusi, mbasi dëgjoi se Gjonin e kishin futur në burg, u tërhoq në Galile.
13 Pastaj la Nazaretin dhe shkoi të banojë në Kapernaum, qytet bregdetar, në kufijtë të Zabulonit dhe të Neftalit,
14 që të përmbushej ç’ishte thënë nëpërmjet profetit Isaia kur tha:
15 “Toka e Zabulonit, toka e Neftalit, mbi bregun e detit, krahina përtej Jordanit, Galileja e paganëve,
16 populli që dergjej në errësirë ka parë një dritë të madhe, dhe përmbi ata që dergjeshin në krahinë dhe në hijen e vdekjes, doli drita.”
17 Që nga ajo kohë Jezusi filloi të predikojë dhe të thotë: “Pendohuni, sepse mbretëria e qiejve është afër!.”
18 Duke ecur gjatë bregut të detit të Galilesë, Jezusi pa dy vëllezër: Simonin, të quajtur Pjetër, dhe Andrean, të vëllanë, të cilët po hidhnin rrjetën në det, sepse ishin peshkatarë;
19 dhe u tha atyre: “Ndiqmëni dhe unë do t’ju bëj peshkatarë njerëzish.”
20 Dhe ata i lanë menjëherë rrjetat dhe e ndoqën.
21 Dhe, duke vazhduar rrugën, pa dy vëllezër të tjerë: Jakobin, birin e Zebedeut dhe Gjonin, vëllanë e tij, në barkë bashkë me Zebedeun, atin e tyre, duke ndrequr rrjetat; dhe i thirri.
22 Dhe ata lanë menjëherë barkën dhe atin e tyre dhe i shkuan pas.
23 Jezusi shkonte kudo nëpër Galile, duke mësuar në sinagogat e tyre, duke predikuar ungjillin e mbretërisë dhe duke shëruar çdo sëmundje dhe çdo lëngatë në popull.
24 Dhe fama e tij u përhap në gjithë Sirinë; dhe i sillnin të gjithë të sëmurët që vuanin nga lëngata dhe dhimbje të ndryshme, të demonizuar, epileptikë dhe paralitikë; dhe ai i shëronte.
25 Dhe një mori e madhe njerëzish i shkonte pas, nga Galileja, nga Dekapoli, nga Jeruzalemi, nga Judeja dhe nga përtej Jordanit.

Die Jesu Christi
4 Darauf wurde Jesus vom Geist in die Wüste geführt, damit er vom Teufel versucht würde. 2 Und als er vierzig Tage und vierzig Nächte gefastet hatte, hungerte er zuletzt. 3 Und der Versucher trat zu ihm und sprach: Bist du Gottes Sohn, so sprich, daß diese Steine Brot werden! 4 Er aber antwortete und sprach: Es steht geschrieben: „Der Mensch lebt nicht vom Brot allein, sondern von einem jeden Wort[a], das durch dem Mund Gottes ausgeht.“
5 Darauf nimmt ihn der Teufel mit sich in die heilige Stadt und stellt ihn auf die Zinne des Tempels[b] 6 und spricht zu ihm: Bist du Gottes Sohn, so wirf dich hinab; denn es steht geschrieben:
„Er wird seinen Engeln deinetwegen Befehl geben, und sie werden dich auf den Händen tragen, damit du deinen Fuß nicht etwa an einen Stein stößt.“
7 Da sprach Jesus zu ihm: Wiederum steht geschrieben: „Du sollst den Herrn, deinen Gott, nicht versuchen.“
8 Wiederum nimmt ihn der Teufel mit auf einen sehr hohen Berg und zeigt ihm alle Reiche der Welt und ihre Herrlichkeit 9 und spricht zu ihm: Dieses alles will ich dir geben, wenn du niederfällst und mich anbetest.
10 Da spricht Jesus zu ihm: Hebe dich weg von mir, Satan! Denn es steht geschrieben: „Du sollst den Herrn, deinen Gott, anbeten und ihm allein dienen![c]“ 11 Da verließ ihn der Teufel; und, siehe, Engel traten hinzu und dienten[d] ihm.
Beginn des Wirkens Jesu in Kapernaum
12 Als aber Jesus hörte, daß Johannes gefangengesetzt worden war, entwich er nach Galiläa. 13 Und er verließ Nazareth, kam und ließ sich in Kapernaum nieder, das am See[e] liegt, im Gebiet von Sebulon und Naphtali; 14 damit erfüllt würde, was durch den Propheten Jesaja gesagt ist, der spricht:
15 „Das Land Sebulon und das Land Naphtali, am Weg des Meeres, jenseits des Jordan, das Galiläa der Heiden[f],
16 das Volk, das in der Finsternis saß, hat ein großes Licht gesehen, und die im Land und Schatten des Todes saßen , denen ist ein Licht aufgegangen.“
17 Von da an begann Jesus zu predigen und zu sprechen: Tut Buße; denn das Himmelreich ist nahe herbeigekommen!
Berufung der ersten Jünger
18 Als Jesus aber am See von Galiläa entlangging, sah er zwei Brüder, Simon, genannt Petrus, und dessen Bruder Andreas; die warfen das Netz in den See, denn sie waren Fischer. 19 Und er spricht zu ihnen: Folgt mir nach, und ich will euch zu Menschenfischern machen! 20 Und sie verließen sogleich die Netze und folgten ihm nach. 21 Und als er von da weiterging, sah er in einem Schiff zwei andere Brüder, Jakobus, den Sohn des Zebedäus, und dessen Bruder Johannes, mit ihrem Vater Zebedäus ihre Netze flicken; und er berief sie. 22 Da verließen sie sogleich das Schiff und ihren Vater und folgten ihm nach.
Jesu Wirken in Galiläa
23 Und Jesus durchzog ganz Galiläa, lehrte in ihren Synagogen[g] und predigte das Evangelium von dem Reich und heilte alle Krankheiten und alle Gebrechen im Volk. 24 Und sein Ruf verbreitete sich in ganz Syrien; und sie brachten alle Kranken zu ihm, die mit mancherlei Krankheiten und Schmerzen geplagt waren, Besessene und Mondsüchtige und Lahme; und er heilte sie. 25 Und es folgte ihm eine große Volksmenge nach aus Galiläa und aus dem Gebiet der Zehn Städte[h] und aus Jerusalem und Judäa und von jenseits des Jordan.

4 Then the Spirit led Yeshua up into the wilderness to be tempted by the Adversary. 2 After Yeshua had fasted forty days and nights, he was hungry. 3 The Tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, order these stones to become bread.” 4 But he answered, “The Tanakh says,
‘Man does not live on bread alone,
but on every word that comes from the mouth of Adonai’”[a]
5 Then the Adversary took him to the holy city and set him on the highest point of the Temple. 6 “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “jump! For the Tanakh says,
‘He will order his angels to be responsible for you. . . .
They will support you with their hands,
so that you will not hurt your feet on the stones.’”[b]
7 Yeshua replied to him, “But it also says, ‘Do not put Adonai your God to the test.’”[c]
8 Once more, the Adversary took him up to the summit of a very high mountain, showed him all the kingdoms of the world in all their glory, 9 and said to him, “All this I will give you if you will bow down and worship me.” 10 “Away with you, Satan!” Yeshua told him, “For the Tanakh says,
‘Worship Adonai your God, and serve only him.’” [d]
11 Then the Adversary let him alone, and angels came and took care of him.
12 When Yeshua heard that Yochanan had been put in prison, he returned to the Galil; 13 but he left Natzeret and came to live in K’far-Nachum, a lake shore town near the boundary between Z’vulun and Naftali. 14 This happened in order to fulfill what Yesha‘yahu the prophet had said,
15 “Land of Z’vulun and land of Naftali,
toward the lake, beyond the Yarden, Galil-of-the-Goyim —
16 the people living in darkness
have seen a great light;
upon those living in the region, in the shadow of death,
light has dawned.” [e]
17 From that time on, Yeshua began proclaiming, “Turn from your sins to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near!”
18 As Yeshua walked by Lake Kinneret, he saw two brothers who were fishermen — Shim‘on, known as Kefa, and his brother Andrew — throwing their net into the lake. 19 Yeshua said to them, “Come after me, and I will make you fishers for men!” 20 At once they left their nets and went with him.
21 Going on from there, he saw two other brothers — Ya’akov Ben-Zavdai and Yochanan his brother — in the boat with their father Zavdai, repairing their nets; and he called them. 22 At once they left the boat and their father and went with Yeshua.
23 Yeshua went all over the Galil teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the Good News of the Kingdom, and healing people from every kind of disease and sickness. 24 Word of him spread throughout all Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill, suffering from various diseases and pains, and those held in the power of demons, and epileptics and paralytics; and he healed them. 25 Huge crowds followed him from the Galil, the Ten Towns, Yerushalayim, Y’hudah, and ‘Ever-HaYarden.

Jesus Is Tested in the Wilderness(A)
4 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted[a](B) by the devil.(C) 2 After fasting forty days and forty nights,(D) he was hungry. 3 The tempter(E) came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God,(F) tell these stones to become bread.”
4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’[b]”(G)
5 Then the devil took him to the holy city(H) and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. 6 “If you are the Son of God,”(I) he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written:
“‘He will command his angels concerning you,
and they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’[c]”(J)
7 Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’[d]”(K)
8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. 9 “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”

Jesus Begins to Preach
12 When Jesus heard that John had been put in prison,(P) he withdrew to Galilee.(Q) 13 Leaving Nazareth, he went and lived in Capernaum,(R) which was by the lake in the area of Zebulun and Naphtali— 14 to fulfill(S) what was said through the prophet Isaiah:
15 “Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali,
the Way of the Sea, beyond the Jordan,
Galilee of the Gentiles—
16 the people living in darkness
have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of the shadow of death
a light has dawned.”[f](T)
17 From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven(U) has come near.”
Jesus Calls His First Disciples(V)
18 As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee,(W) he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter(X) and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. 19 “Come, follow me,”(Y) Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” 20 At once they left their nets and followed him.(Z)
21 Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John.(AA) They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them, 22 and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.(AB)
Jesus Heals the Sick
23 Jesus went throughout Galilee,(AC) teaching in their synagogues,(AD) proclaiming the good news(AE) of the kingdom,(AF) and healing every disease and sickness among the people.(AG) 24 News about him spread all over Syria,(AH) and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed,(AI) those having seizures,(AJ) and the paralyzed;(AK) and he healed them. 25 Large crowds from Galilee, the Decapolis,[g] Jerusalem, Judea and the region across the Jordan followed him.(AL)

21 And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them.
22 And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him.
23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.
24 And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.
25 And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan.
