Ang 12 ka Apostoles

(Mar. 3:13-19; Luc. 6:12-16)

10 Gitawag ni Jesus ang iyang 12 ka mga tinun-an ug gihatagan niya sila ug gahom sa paghingilin sa mga daotang espiritu. Gihatagan usab niya sila ug gahom sa pag-ayo sa bisan unsang matang sa sakit. Ang Buluhaton sa 12 ka Apostoles

(Mar. 6:7-13; Luc. 9:1-6)

Sa wala pa palakwa ni Jesus ang 12 ka apostoles gimandoan niya sila, “Ayaw kamo pag-adto sa mga dapit sa mga dili Judio o sa mga lungsod sa Samaria, adto hinuon kamo sa mga kaliwat ni Israel. Sama sila sa mga karnero nga nangawala. Ibalita ninyo kanila nga panahon na nga ang Dios maghari sa mga tawo. Ayoha ninyo ang mga masakiton, banhawa ninyo ang mga patay, ayoha ninyo ang mga may ngilngig nga sakit sa panit[a] aron mahimo silang hinlo, ug hinginli ninyo ang daotang mga espiritu. Nakadawat kamo gikan sa Dios nga walay bayad, busa panghatag usab kamo nga walay bayad. Ayaw kamo pagbalon ug kuwarta, 10 bag, ilisan, sandalyas, o baston, kay ang nangalagad angay gayod nga hatagan sa iyang mga kinahanglanon.

11 “Kon mosulod kamo sa usa ka lungsod o sa usa ka baryo, pangita kamo ug tawo nga andam modawat kaninyo. Puyo kamo didto hangtod nga mobiya kamo niana nga dapit. 12 Sa pagsulod ninyo sa balay panalangini ninyo ang nagapuyo didto. 13 Kon kana nga panimalay modawat kaninyo, ibilin ang inyong panalangin kanila; apan kon dili, bakwia ang inyong panalangin kanila. 14 Kon may mga panimalay o lungsod nga dili gayod modawat kaninyo o dili gayod maminaw kaninyo, biyai ninyo sila. Sa pagbiya ninyo, itaktak ang abog sa inyong sandalyas isip pasidaan batok kanila. 15 Sa pagkatinuod, ang silot nga ilang madawat sa adlaw sa paghukom labaw pa kabug-at kaysa silot nga nadawat sa mga taga-Sodoma ug mga taga-Gomora.”

Ang Umaabot nga mga Paglutos

(Mar. 13:9-13; Luc. 12:12-17)

16 “Timan-i ninyo kini! Sama kamo sa mga karnero nga akong gipaadto sa mabangis nga mga mananap. Busa pagmaigmat kamo sama sa mga bitin, ug pagmalumo kamo sama sa mga salampati. 17 Pagbantay kamo kanila, kay dakpon nila kamo ug dad-on ngadto sa mga hukmanan ug latigohon kamo didto sa sulod sa ilang mga sinagoga. 18 Isumbong nila kamo sa mga gobernador ug mga hari tungod sa inyong pagsunod kanako, ug didto makasangyaw kamo sa Maayong Balita kanila ug sa uban pang dili Judio. 19 Kon sukitsukiton na kamo, ayaw kamo kabalaka kon unsa ang inyong itubag, ug kon unsaon ninyo pagtubag. Kay sa higayon nga mahitabo kini, tudloan kamo sa Espiritu Santo kon unsay inyong isulti. 20 Busa ang inyong itubag dili inyo kondili iya sa Espiritu nga gikan sa inyong Amahan. Siya ang mosulti pinaagi kaninyo.

21 Nianang panahona may mga tawo nga mounay pagtugyan sa ilang igsoon aron patyon. May mga amahan nga mopapatay sa ilang mga anak. Ug may mga anak nga makigbatok sa ilang mga ginikanan, ug mopapatay kanila. 22 Dumtan kamo sa tanan tungod kay kamo akong mga tinun-an. Apan ang magpadayon sa pagsunod kanako hangtod sa kataposan mao ang maluwas. 23 Kon lutoson kamo diha sa usa ka lungsod, pahilayo kamo ug adto sa laing lungsod. Kay sa pagkatinuod, sa dili pa ninyo malibot ang tanang mga lungsod sa Israel, ako nga Anak sa Tawo mobalik na.

24 “Walay estudyante nga labaw sa iyang maestro, ug walay ulipon nga labaw sa iyang agalon. 25 Busa igo na sa estudyante nga mahimong sama sa iyang maestro, ug sa ulipon nga mahimong sama sa iyang agalon. Kon ako nga nangulo kaninyo gitawag nga Satanas,[b] unsa pa kaha kadaotan ang ilang itawag kaninyo nga akong mga tinun-an.”

Ang Angay nga Kahadlokan

(Luc. 12:2-7)

26 “Busa ayaw kamo kahadlok sa mga tawo. Kay walay tinagoan nga dili mabutyag sa kaulahian. 27 Ang mga butang nga kaninyo ko lang gisulti, isulti ninyo sa tanan. Ug ang akong gihunghong kaninyo, isangyaw ninyo sa katawhan. 28 Ayaw kamo kahadlok sa mga tawo nga makapatay sa inyong lawas apan dili makapatay sa inyong kalag. Ang Dios mao ang angay ninyong kahadlokan, tungod kay siya ang makahimo sa paglaglag sa inyong lawas ug kalag didto sa impiyerno. 29 Dili ba barato ra ang mga gagmayng langgam? Apan walay usa kanila nga mahulog sa yuta nga dili sumala sa pagbuot sa inyong Amahan. 30 Ug bahin kaninyo, bisan ang inyong mga buhok inihap na niya ang tanan. 31 Busa ayaw kamo kahadlok, kay mas bililhon pa kamo kaysa mga langgam.”

Ang Pag-ila kang Cristo

(Luc. 12:8-9)

32 “Si bisan kinsa nga moila kanako ingon nga iyang Ginoo atubangan sa katawhan, ilhon ko usab atubangan sa akong Amahan sa langit. 33 Apan si bisan kinsa nga molimod kanako atubangan sa katawhan, ilimod ko usab atubangan sa akong Amahan sa langit.”

34 “Ayaw kamo paghunahuna nga mianhi ako sa kalibotan aron mahimong maayo ang relasyon sa usag usa. Mianhi ako aron magkagubot sila.[c] 35 Mianhi ako aron makigbatok ang mga anak nga lalaki sa ilang mga amahan, ang mga anak nga babaye sa ilang mga inahan, ug ang mga umagad nga babaye sa ilang mga ugangan nga babaye. 36 Ang mahimong kaaway sa mga tawo mao mismo ang sakop sa ilang kaugalingon nga panimalay.[d]

37 “Apan ang nahigugma sa iyang amahan o sa iyang inahan labaw pa kay kanako dili angay kanako. Ug ang nahigugma sa iyang mga anak labaw pa kay kanako dili angay kanako. 38 Si bisan kinsa nga dili mosunod kanako kay mahadlok mamatay tungod kanako[e] dili angay kanako. 39 Ang magtinguha sa pagtipig sa iyang kinabuhi mawad-an hinuon niini. Apan ang maghalad sa iyang kinabuhi tungod sa iyang pagsunod kanako makadawat sa kinabuhi nga walay kataposan.”

Ang mga Ganti

40 “Ang modawat kaninyo nagadawat usab kanako. Ug ang nagadawat kanako nagadawat usab sa nagpadala kanako. 41 Ang magadawat sa propeta sa Dios tungod sa pagkapropeta niini makadawat gikan sa Dios ug ganti sama sa madawat sa propeta. Ug ang modawat sa tawong matarong tungod sa pagkamatarong niini makadawat gikan sa Dios ug ganti sama sa madawat sa tawong matarong. 42 Ug si bisan kinsa nga mohatag bisag usa lang ka basong tubig ngadto sa labing ubos nako nga tinun-an tungod kay ako kining tinun-an, kana nga tawo makadawat gayod sa iyang ganti.”

Jesus Sends Out the Twelve(A)(B)(C)(D)(E)

10 Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out impure spirits(F) and to heal every disease and sickness.(G)

These are the names of the twelve apostles: first, Simon (who is called Peter) and his brother Andrew; James son of Zebedee, and his brother John; Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; Simon the Zealot and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him.(H)

These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions: “Do not go among the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans.(I) Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel.(J) As you go, proclaim this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven(K) has come near.’ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy,[a] drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.

“Do not get any gold or silver or copper to take with you in your belts(L) 10 no bag for the journey or extra shirt or sandals or a staff, for the worker is worth his keep.(M) 11 Whatever town or village you enter, search there for some worthy person and stay at their house until you leave. 12 As you enter the home, give it your greeting.(N) 13 If the home is deserving, let your peace rest on it; if it is not, let your peace return to you. 14 If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, leave that home or town and shake the dust off your feet.(O) 15 Truly I tell you, it will be more bearable for Sodom and Gomorrah(P) on the day of judgment(Q) than for that town.(R)

16 “I am sending you out like sheep among wolves.(S) Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.(T) 17 Be on your guard; you will be handed over to the local councils(U) and be flogged in the synagogues.(V) 18 On my account you will be brought before governors and kings(W) as witnesses to them and to the Gentiles. 19 But when they arrest you, do not worry about what to say or how to say it.(X) At that time you will be given what to say, 20 for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father(Y) speaking through you.

21 “Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; children will rebel against their parents(Z) and have them put to death.(AA) 22 You will be hated by everyone because of me,(AB) but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.(AC) 23 When you are persecuted in one place, flee to another. Truly I tell you, you will not finish going through the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.(AD)

24 “The student is not above the teacher, nor a servant above his master.(AE) 25 It is enough for students to be like their teachers, and servants like their masters. If the head of the house has been called Beelzebul,(AF) how much more the members of his household!

26 “So do not be afraid of them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known.(AG) 27 What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs. 28 Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One(AH) who can destroy both soul and body in hell. 29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care.[b] 30 And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.(AI) 31 So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.(AJ)

32 “Whoever acknowledges me before others,(AK) I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. 33 But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven.(AL)

34 “Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35 For I have come to turn

“‘a man against his father,
    a daughter against her mother,
a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law(AM)
36     a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.’[c](AN)

37 “Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.(AO) 38 Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me.(AP) 39 Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.(AQ)

40 “Anyone who welcomes you welcomes me,(AR) and anyone who welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me.(AS) 41 Whoever welcomes a prophet as a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward, and whoever welcomes a righteous person as a righteous person will receive a righteous person’s reward. 42 And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward.”(AT)

But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses,

10 Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat.

11 And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, enquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence.

12 And when ye come into an house, salute it.

13 And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.

14 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.

15 Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

17 But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues;

18 And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.

19 But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.

20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.

21 And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.

22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

23 But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.

24 The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.

25 It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?

26 Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.

27 What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.

28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

29 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.

30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

31 Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.

33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.

39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

40 He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.

41 He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward.

42 And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.
