²⁹ So He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing but ^(A)prayer ^[a]and fasting.”

^3 (A)Then I set my face toward the Lord God to make request by prayer and supplications, with fasting, sackcloth, and ashes.

¹⁵ And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. ^(A)And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

²⁰ So Jesus said to them, “Because of your ^[a]unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, ^(A)if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.

^18 (A)praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, ^(B)being watchful to this end with all perseverance and ^(C)supplication for all the saints—

^8 (A)Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me.

²⁷ in weariness and toil, ^(A)in sleeplessness often, ^(B)in hunger and thirst, in ^(C)fastings often, in cold and nakedness—

²⁶ Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and ^(A)the last state of that man is worse than the first.”

^27 (A)But I discipline my body and ^(B)bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become ^(C)disqualified.

²⁰ Then he cried out to the Lord and said, “O Lord my God, have You also brought tragedy on the widow with whom I lodge, by killing her son?” ^21 (A)And he stretched himself out on the child three times, and cried out to the Lord and said, “O Lord my God, I pray, let this child’s soul come back to him.” ²² Then the Lord heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came back to him, and he ^(B)revived.
