³⁷ People were overwhelmed with amazement. “He has done everything well,” they said. “He even makes the deaf hear and the mute speak.”

⁵¹ Then he climbed into the boat^(A) with them, and the wind died down.^(B) They were completely amazed,

⁴² Immediately the girl stood up and began to walk around (she was twelve years old). At this they were completely astonished.

⁴¹ They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”

¹⁰ Moses said to the Lord, “Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.”^(A)

¹¹ The Lord said to him, “Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute?^(B) Who gives them sight or makes them blind?^(C) Is it not I, the Lord?

¹² He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God,^(A) saying, “We have never seen anything like this!”^(B)

¹¹ When the crowd saw what Paul had done, they shouted in the Lycaonian language, “The gods have come down to us in human form!”^(A)

⁴¹ We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.”^(A)
