²⁴ So he went with him.

And a large crowd followed him and pressed in on him.

³¹ And his disciples said to him, “You see the crowd pressing in on you; how can you say, ‘Who touched me?’ ”

⁶ And Jesus went with them, but when he was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to say to him, “Lord, do not trouble yourself, for I am not worthy to have you come under my roof;

²⁰ Then he went home, and the crowd came together again, so that they could not even eat.^(A)

⁹ He told his disciples to have a boat ready for him because of the crowd, so that they would not crush him, ¹⁰ for he had cured many, so that all who had diseases pressed upon him to touch him.^(A)

³⁸ how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power; how he went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.^(A)

³ He was trying to see who Jesus was, but on account of the crowd he could not, because he was short in stature.

A Warning against Hypocrisy

12 Meanwhile, when the crowd had gathered by the thousands, so that they trampled on one another, he began to speak first to his disciples, “Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees, that is, their hypocrisy.^(A)

⁴⁵ Then Jesus asked, “Who touched me?” When they all denied it, Peter^[a] said, “Master, the crowds are hemming you in and pressing against you.”^(A)

⁴² for he had an only daughter, about twelve years old, and she was dying.

As he went, the crowds pressed in on him.
