² And when he had stepped out of the boat, immediately a man from the tombs with an unclean spirit met him.^(A)

²³ Just then there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit,

⁸ For he had said to him, “Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!”

⁴² While he was being brought forward, the demon dashed him to the ground in convulsions. But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, healed the boy, and gave him back to his father.

²⁷ As he stepped out on shore, a man from the city who had demons met him. For a long time he had not worn^[a] any clothes, and he did not live in a house but in the tombs.

²⁵ but a woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit immediately heard about him, and she came and bowed down at his feet.

The Parable of the Sower

4 Again he began to teach beside the sea. Such a very large crowd gathered around him that he got into a boat on the sea and sat there, while the whole crowd was beside the sea on the land.^(A)

³⁰ for they had said, “He has an unclean spirit.”

²⁶ And the unclean spirit, convulsing him and crying with a loud voice, came out of him.
