²⁸ So ^(A)the Son of Man is lord even of the Sabbath.”

^10 (A)I was in the Spirit ^(B)on the Lord's day, and I heard behind me a loud voice ^(C)like a trumpet

⁸ For ^(A)the Son of Man is lord of the Sabbath.”

²² And ^(A)he put all things under his feet and gave him as ^(B)head over all things to the church,

^14 (A)Now it was a Sabbath day when Jesus made the mud and opened his eyes.

¹⁶ Some of the Pharisees said, “This man is not ^(A)from God, ^(B)for he does not keep the Sabbath.” But others said, ^(C)“How can a man who is a sinner do such signs?” And ^(D)there was a division among them.

⁵ As long as I am in the world, ^(A)I am the light of the world.” ⁶ Having said these things, ^(B)he spit on the ground and made mud with the saliva. ^(C)Then he anointed the man's eyes with the mud ⁷ and said to him, “Go, wash in ^(D)the pool of Siloam” (which means Sent). So he went and washed and ^(E)came back seeing.

⁸ The neighbors and those who had seen him before as a beggar were saying, ^(F)“Is this not the man who used to sit and beg?” ⁹ Some said, “It is he.” Others said, “No, but he is like him.” He kept saying, “I am the man.” ¹⁰ So they said to him, “Then how were your eyes opened?” ¹¹ He answered, ^(G)“The man called Jesus made mud and anointed my eyes and said to me, ‘Go to Siloam and wash.’ So I went and washed and received my sight.”

¹⁷ But Jesus answered them, “My Father is working until now, and I am working.”

^9 (A)And at once the man was healed, and he took up his bed and walked.

^(B)Now that day was the Sabbath. ¹⁰ So the Jews^[a] said to the man who had been healed, “It is the Sabbath, and ^(C)it is not lawful for you to take up your bed.” ¹¹ But he answered them, “The man who healed me, that man said to me, ‘Take up your bed, and walk.’”
