Mark 16
Revised Geneva Translation
16 And when the Sabbath day had passed, Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James and Salome bought sweet ointments so that they might come and anoint Jesus.
2 Therefore, early in the morning, the first day of the week, they came to the sepulcher, when the Sun was now risen.
3 And they said to each other, “Who shall we have roll away the stone from the door of the sepulcher?”
4 But when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away (for it was a very great one).
5 So they went into the sepulcher and saw a young man sitting at the right side, clothed in a long white robe. And they were awestruck.
6 But he said to them, “Do not be so troubled. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, Who was crucified. He is risen. He is not here. Behold the place where they put Him.
7 “But go your way, and tell His disciples, and Peter, that He will go before you into Galilee. There you shall see Him, as He said to you.”
8 And they went out quickly and fled from the sepulcher. For they trembled and were amazed. Nor did they say anything to anyone, for they were afraid.
9 And when Jesus was risen again, early the first day of the week, He appeared first to Mary Magdalene (out of whom He had cast seven demons).
10 And she went and told those who had been with Him, who mourned and wept.
11 And when they heard that He was alive, and had appeared to her, they did not believe it.
12 After that, He appeared to two of them in another form (as they walked and went into the country).
13 And they went and told it to the remnant. And they did not believe them.
14 Finally, He appeared to the eleven, as they sat together, and reproached them for their unbelief and hardness of heart; because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen.
15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature.
16 “The one who shall believe, and be baptized, shall be saved. But the one who will not believe, shall be damned.
17 “And these signs shall follow those who believe: In My Name, they shall cast out demons, and shall speak with new tongues,
18 “and shall take away serpents. And if they shall drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them. They shall lay their hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”
19 So, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received into Heaven, and sat at the right hand of God.
20 And they went forth and preached everywhere. And the Lord worked with them and confirmed the Word with signs that followed. Amen.

17 (N)И тези знамения ще придружават повярвалите: в Мое име бесове ще изгонват; нови езици ще говорят;

Jesus Has Risen(A)
16 When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices(B) so that they might go to anoint Jesus’ body. 2 Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb 3 and they asked each other, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?”(C)
4 But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away. 5 As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe(D) sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed.
6 “Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene,(E) who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. 7 But go, tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him,(F) just as he told you.’”(G)
8 Trembling and bewildered, the women went out and fled from the tomb. They said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid.[a]
[The earliest manuscripts and some other ancient witnesses do not have verses 9–20.]
9 When Jesus rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene,(H) out of whom he had driven seven demons. 10 She went and told those who had been with him and who were mourning and weeping. 11 When they heard that Jesus was alive and that she had seen him, they did not believe it.(I)
12 Afterward Jesus appeared in a different form to two of them while they were walking in the country.(J) 13 These returned and reported it to the rest; but they did not believe them either.
14 Later Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating; he rebuked them for their lack of faith and their stubborn refusal to believe those who had seen him after he had risen.(K)
15 He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.(L) 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.(M) 17 And these signs(N) will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons;(O) they will speak in new tongues;(P) 18 they will pick up snakes(Q) with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on(R) sick people, and they will get well.”
19 After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven(S) and he sat at the right hand of God.(T) 20 Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs(U) that accompanied it.
Footnotes
- Mark 16:8 Some manuscripts have the following ending between verses 8 and 9, and one manuscript has it after verse 8 (omitting verses 9-20): Then they quickly reported all these instructions to those around Peter. After this, Jesus himself also sent out through them from east to west the sacred and imperishable proclamation of eternal salvation. Amen.

10 And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept.
11 And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not.
12 After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked, and went into the country.
13 And they went and told it unto the residue: neither believed they them.
14 Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

Tree of Life Version
The Empty Tomb
16 When Shabbat was over, Miriam of Magdala, Miriam the mother of Jacob, and Salome bought spices, so that they might come and anoint Yeshua’s body. 2 Very early on the first day of the week, when the sun had risen, they come to the tomb. 3 They were saying to each other, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb?”
4 Looking up, they see that the stone (it was really huge) had been rolled away. 5 As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, dressed in a white robe; and they were startled. 6 But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You are looking for Yeshua of Natzeret, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here! See the place where they put Him. 7 But go, tell His disciples and Peter, ‘He is going before you to the Galilee. There you will see Him, just as He told you.’”
8 And going outside, they fled from the tomb, gripped by trembling and amazement. They didn’t say anything to anybody, for they were afraid.
He Is Risen[a]
9 After He had risen early on the first day of the week, He appeared first to Miriam of Magdala, from whom He had driven out seven demons. 10 She went and brought word to those who had been with Him, while they were mourning and weeping. 11 When they heard that He was alive and had been seen by her, they refused to believe.
12 After that, He appeared in a different form to two of them as they were walking on their way to the country. 13 They went and reported it to the rest, but they did not believe them either. 14 Later He appeared to them, the eleven, as they were reclining at the table. He rebuked them for their unbelief and hardheartedness, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had been raised.
Tell the World!
15 He told them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the Good News to every creature. 16 He who believes and is immersed shall be saved, but he who does not believe shall be condemned. 17 These signs will accompany those who believe: in My name they will drive out demons; they will speak new languages; 18 they will handle snakes; and if they drink anything deadly, it will not harm them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will get well.”
19 Then the Lord Yeshua, after He had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God. 20 And they went out and proclaimed everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word by the signs that follow.
Footnotes
- Mark 16:9 The earliest mss. exclude Mark 16:9-20. A shorter version reads: But, they reported briefly to Peter and those with him all they had been told. And after these things, Yeshua Himself, through them, sent out from east to west the sacred, imperishable proclamation of eternal salvation.
