Mary Magdalene Sees the Risen Lord(A)

[a]Now when He rose early on the first day of the week, He appeared first to Mary Magdalene, (B)out of whom He had cast seven demons. 10 (C)She went and told those who had been with Him, as they mourned and wept. 11 (D)And when they heard that He was alive and had been seen by her, they did not believe.

Jesus Appears to Two Disciples(E)

12 After that, He appeared in another form (F)to two of them as they walked and went into the country. 13 And they went and told it to the rest, but they did not believe them either.

The Great Commission(G)

14 (H)Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen. 15 (I)And He said to them, “Go into all the world (J)and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 (K)He who believes and is baptized will be saved; (L)but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these (M)signs will follow those who [b]believe: (N)In My name they will cast out demons; (O)they will speak with new tongues; 18 (P)they[c] will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; (Q)they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

Christ Ascends to God’s Right Hand(R)

19 So then, (S)after the Lord had spoken to them, He was (T)received up into heaven, and (U)sat down at the right hand of God. 20 And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them (V)and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen.

And he, having risen in the morning of the first of the sabbaths, did appear first to Mary the Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven demons;

10 she having gone, told those who had been with him, mourning and weeping;

11 and they, having heard that he is alive, and was seen by her, did not believe.

12 And after these things, to two of them, as they are going into a field, walking, he was manifested in another form,

13 and they having gone, told to the rest; not even them did they believe.

14 Afterwards, as they are reclining (at meat), he was manifested to the eleven, and did reproach their unbelief and stiffness of heart, because they believed not those having seen him being raised;

15 and he said to them, `Having gone to all the world, proclaim the good news to all the creation;

16 he who hath believed, and hath been baptized, shall be saved; and he who hath not believed, shall be condemned.

17 `And signs shall accompany those believing these things; in my name demons they shall cast out; with new tongues they shall speak;

18 serpents they shall take up; and if any deadly thing they may drink, it shall not hurt them; on the ailing they shall lay hands, and they shall be well.'

19 The Lord, then, indeed, after speaking to them, was received up to the heaven, and sat on the right hand of God;

20 and they, having gone forth, did preach everywhere, the Lord working with [them], and confirming the word, through the signs following. Amen.

[[[a]Now after He had risen early on the first day of the week, He first appeared to (A)Mary Magdalene, from whom He had cast out seven demons. 10 (B)She went and reported to those who had been with Him, while they were mourning and weeping. 11 And when they heard that He was alive and had been seen by her, (C)they refused to believe it.

12 Now after that, (D)He appeared in a different form (E)to two of them while they were walking along on their way to the country. 13 And they went away and reported it to the rest, but they (F)did not believe them, either.

The Disciples Commissioned

14 Later (G)He appeared (H)to the eleven disciples themselves as they were reclining at the table; and He reprimanded them for their (I)unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who had seen Him after He had risen from the dead. 15 And He said to them, (J)Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. 16 (K)The one who has believed and has been baptized will be saved; but the one who has not believed will be condemned. 17 These signs will accompany those who have believed: (L)in My name they will cast out demons, they will (M)speak with new tongues; 18 they will (N)pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not harm them; they will (O)lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

19 So then, when the Lord Jesus had (P)spoken to them, He (Q)was received up into heaven and (R)sat down at the right hand of God. 20 And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them, and confirmed the word by the signs that followed.]]

[[[b]And they promptly reported all these instructions to Peter and his companions. And after that, Jesus Himself also sent out through them from east to west the sacred and imperishable proclamation of eternal salvation.]]
