22 (A)And as they were eating, he took bread, and after (B)blessing it broke it and gave it to them, and said, “Take; (C)this is my body.” 23 And he took a cup, and when he had (D)given thanks he gave it to them, and they all drank of it. 24 And he said to them, (E)“This is my (F)blood of the[a] covenant, which is poured out for (G)many. 25 Truly, I say to you, I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.”
Jesus Foretells Peter's Denial
26 (H)And when they had sung a hymn, (I)they went out to (J)the Mount of Olives. 27 And Jesus said to them, “You will all fall away, for it is written, ‘I will (K)strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.’ 28 But after I am raised up, (L)I will go before you to Galilee.” 29 (M)Peter said to him, “Even though they all fall away, I will not.” 30 And (N)Jesus said to him, “Truly, I tell you, this very night, before (O)the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.” 31 But (P)he said emphatically, “If I must die with you, I will not deny you.” And they all said the same.

22 Καὶ ἐσθιόντων αὐτῶν [a]λαβὼν ἄρτον εὐλογήσας ἔκλασεν καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτοῖς καὶ εἶπεν· [b]Λάβετε, τοῦτό ἐστιν τὸ σῶμά μου. 23 καὶ [c]λαβὼν ποτήριον εὐχαριστήσας ἔδωκεν αὐτοῖς, καὶ ἔπιον ἐξ αὐτοῦ πάντες. 24 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· Τοῦτό ἐστιν τὸ αἷμά μου [d]τῆς διαθήκης τὸ [e]ἐκχυννόμενον ὑπὲρ πολλῶν. 25 ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι οὐκέτι οὐ μὴ πίω ἐκ τοῦ γενήματος τῆς ἀμπέλου ἕως τῆς ἡμέρας ἐκείνης ὅταν αὐτὸ πίνω καινὸν ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ τοῦ θεοῦ.
26 Καὶ ὑμνήσαντες ἐξῆλθον εἰς τὸ Ὄρος τῶν Ἐλαιῶν. 27 Καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς ὅτι Πάντες [f]σκανδαλισθήσεσθε, ὅτι γέγραπται· Πατάξω τὸν ποιμένα, καὶ [g]τὰ πρόβατα διασκορπισθήσονται. 28 ἀλλὰ μετὰ τὸ ἐγερθῆναί με προάξω ὑμᾶς εἰς τὴν Γαλιλαίαν. 29 ὁ δὲ Πέτρος ἔφη αὐτῷ· [h]Εἰ καὶ πάντες σκανδαλισθήσονται, ἀλλ’ οὐκ ἐγώ. 30 καὶ λέγει αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Ἀμὴν λέγω σοι ὅτι σὺ σήμερον [i]ταύτῃ τῇ νυκτὶ πρὶν ἢ δὶς ἀλέκτορα φωνῆσαι τρίς [j]με ἀπαρνήσῃ. 31 ὁ δὲ [k]ἐκπερισσῶς ἐλάλει· Ἐὰν [l]δέῃ με συναποθανεῖν σοι, οὐ μή σε [m]ἀπαρνήσομαι. ὡσαύτως δὲ καὶ πάντες ἔλεγον.

22 While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it(A) and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take it; this is my body.”
23 Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, and they all drank from it.(B)
24 “This is my blood of the[a] covenant,(C) which is poured out for many,” he said to them. 25 “Truly I tell you, I will not drink again from the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.”(D)
26 When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.(E)
Jesus Predicts Peter’s Denial(F)
27 “You will all fall away,” Jesus told them, “for it is written:
28 But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.”(H)
29 Peter declared, “Even if all fall away, I will not.”
30 “Truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “today—yes, tonight—before the rooster crows twice[c] you yourself will disown me three times.”(I)
31 But Peter insisted emphatically, “Even if I have to die with you,(J) I will never disown you.” And all the others said the same.
