⁴³ But ^(A)it shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant,^[a]

^8 (A)But you are not to be called rabbi, for you have one teacher, and you are ^(B)all brothers.^{[a] 9 (C)}And call no man your father on earth, for ^(D)you have one Father, who is in heaven. ¹⁰ Neither be called instructors, for you have one instructor, ^(E)the Christ. ^11 (F)The greatest among you shall be your servant. ^12 (G)Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.

^26 (A)It shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant,^{[a] 27} and whoever would be first among you must be your slave,^[b]

¹¹ For ^(A)everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

³⁵ And he sat down and called the twelve. And he said to them, ^(A)“If anyone would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.”

⁴⁸ and said to them, ^(A)“Whoever receives this child in my name receives me, and ^(B)whoever receives me receives him who sent me. For ^(C)he who is least among you all is the one who is great.”

⁵ Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. ^(A)Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for ^(B)“God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”

^6 (C)Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you,

¹⁹ For ^(A)though I am free from all, ^(B)I have made myself a servant to all, that I might ^(C)win more of them. ^20 (D)To the Jews I became as a Jew, in order to win Jews. To those under the law I became as one under the law (though not being myself under the law) that I might win those under the law. ²¹ To ^(E)those outside the law I became ^(F)as one outside the law (not being outside the law of God but ^(G)under the law of Christ) that I might win those outside the law. ^22 (H)To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. ^(I)I have become all things to all people, that ^(J)by all means I might save some. ²³ I do it all for the sake of the gospel, ^(K)that I may share with them in its blessings.

^2 (A)Do not be conformed to this world,^[a] but be transformed by ^(B)the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may ^(C)discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.^[b]
