³⁸ Jesus said to them, ^(A)“You do not know what you are asking. Are you able ^(B)to drink the cup that I drink, or ^(C)to be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized?”

^50 (A)I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how ^(B)great is my distress until it is accomplished!

¹¹ So Jesus said to Peter, “Put your sword into its sheath; ^(A)shall I not drink the cup that the Father has given me?”

²¹ And he said to her, “What do you want?” She said to him, “Say that these two sons of mine ^(A)are to sit, one at your right hand and one at your left, ^(B)in your kingdom.” ²² Jesus answered, ^(C)“You do not know what you are asking. Are you able ^(D)to drink the cup that I am to drink?” They said to him, “We are able.”

³ You ask and do not receive, because you ask ^(A)wrongly, to spend it on your passions.

²⁶ Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For ^(A)we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but ^(B)the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.

⁴² saying, ^(A)“Father, if you are willing, remove ^(B)this cup from me. ^(C)Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.”
