18 And He said to them, (B)“I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 Behold, (C)I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 20 Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but [b]rather rejoice because (D)your names are written in heaven.”

Then (B)He called His twelve disciples together and (C)gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. (D)He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. (E)And He said to them, “Take nothing for the journey, neither staffs nor bag nor bread nor money; and do not have two tunics apiece.

(F)“Whatever house you enter, stay there, and from there depart. (G)And whoever will not receive you, when you go out of that city, (H)shake off the very dust from your feet as a testimony against them.”

(I)So they departed and went through the towns, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere.

Jesus Sends Out the Twelve(A)(B)

When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons(C) and to cure diseases,(D) and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God(E) and to heal the sick. He told them: “Take nothing for the journey—no staff, no bag, no bread, no money, no extra shirt.(F) Whatever house you enter, stay there until you leave that town.
