45 And when he came, he went up to him at once and said, (A)“Rabbi!” And he (B)kissed him. 46 And they laid hands on him and seized him. 47 But one of those who stood by drew his (C)sword and struck the servant[a] of the high priest and cut off his ear. 48 And Jesus said to them, “Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs to capture me? 49 (D)Day after day I was with you in the temple (E)teaching, and you did not seize me. But (F)let the Scriptures be fulfilled.” 50 (G)And they all left him and fled.
A Young Man Flees
51 And a young man followed him, with nothing but (H)a linen cloth about his body. And they seized him, 52 but he left the linen cloth and ran away naked.
Jesus Before the Council
53 (I)And (J)they led Jesus to the high priest. And all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes came together. 54 (K)And (L)Peter had followed him at a distance, (M)right into (N)the courtyard of the high priest. And he was sitting with (O)the guards and (P)warming himself at the fire.

45 Going at once to Jesus, Judas said, “Rabbi!”(A) and kissed him. 46 The men seized Jesus and arrested him. 47 Then one of those standing near drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.
48 “Am I leading a rebellion,” said Jesus, “that you have come out with swords and clubs to capture me? 49 Every day I was with you, teaching in the temple courts,(B) and you did not arrest me. But the Scriptures must be fulfilled.”(C) 50 Then everyone deserted him and fled.(D)
51 A young man, wearing nothing but a linen garment, was following Jesus. When they seized him, 52 he fled naked, leaving his garment behind.
Jesus Before the Sanhedrin(E)(F)
53 They took Jesus to the high priest, and all the chief priests, the elders and the teachers of the law came together. 54 Peter followed him at a distance, right into the courtyard of the high priest.(G) There he sat with the guards and warmed himself at the fire.(H)
