Mark 12:15-17

15 But, knowing (A)their hypocrisy, he said to them, “Why (B)put me to the test? Bring me (C)a denarius[a] and let me look at it.” 16 And they brought one. And he said to them, “Whose likeness and inscription is this?” They said to him, “Caesar's.” 17 Jesus said to them, (D)“Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's.” And they marveled at him.

15 Should we pay or shouldn’t we?”
But Jesus knew their hypocrisy. “Why are you trying to trap me?” he asked. “Bring me a denarius and let me look at it.” 16 They brought the coin, and he asked them, “Whose image is this? And whose inscription?”
“Caesar’s,” they replied.
17 Then Jesus said to them, “Give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s.”(A)
And they were amazed at him.
