The Fig Tree Withered(A)
12 (B)Now the next day, when they had come out from Bethany, He was hungry. 13 (C)And seeing from afar a fig tree having leaves, He went to see if perhaps He would find something on it. When He came to it, He found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. 14 In response Jesus said to it, “Let no one eat fruit from you ever again.”
And His disciples heard it.
Jesus Cleanses the Temple(D)
15 (E)So they came to Jerusalem. Then Jesus went into the temple and began to drive out those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold (F)doves. 16 And He would not allow anyone to carry wares through the temple. 17 Then He taught, saying to them, “Is it not written, (G)‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations’? But you have made it a (H)‘den of thieves.’ ”
18 And (I)the scribes and chief priests heard it and sought how they might destroy Him; for they feared Him, because (J)all the people were astonished at His teaching. 19 When evening had come, He went out of the city.
The Lesson of the Withered Fig Tree(K)
20 (L)Now in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. 21 And Peter, remembering, said to Him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree which You cursed has withered away.”
22 So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. 23 For (M)assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. 24 Therefore I say to you, (N)whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.
Forgiveness and Prayer(O)
25 “And whenever you stand praying, (P)if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. 26 [a]But (Q)if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.”

20 και πρωι παραπορευομενοι ειδον την συκην εξηραμμενην εκ ριζων
21 και αναμνησθεις ο πετρος λεγει αυτω ραββι ιδε η συκη ην κατηρασω εξηρανται

Jesus Drives Money Changers from the Temple
15 (B)Then they *came to Jerusalem. And He entered the temple area and began to drive out those who were selling and buying on the temple grounds, and He overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who were selling [a]doves; 16 and He would not allow anyone to carry [b]merchandise through the temple grounds. 17 And He began to teach and say to them, “Is it not written: ‘(C)My house will be called a house of prayer for all the nations’? (D)But you have made it a den of robbers.” 18 And the chief priests and the scribes heard this, and they (E)began seeking how to put Him to death; for they were afraid of Him, because all (F)the crowd was astonished at His teaching.
19 And (G)whenever evening came, [c]they would leave the city.
20 (H)As they were passing by in the morning, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots up. 21 And being reminded, Peter *said to Him, “(I)Rabbi, look, the fig tree that You cursed has withered.” 22 And Jesus answered and *said to them, “(J)Have faith in God. 23 (K)Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted to him. 24 Therefore, I say to you, (L)all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted to you. 25 And whenever you (M)stand praying, (N)forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father who is in heaven will also forgive you for your [d]offenses. 26 [[e](O)But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in heaven forgive your [f]offenses.”]

14 and Jesus answering said to it, `No more from thee -- to the age -- may any eat fruit;' and his disciples were hearing.
15 And they come to Jerusalem, and Jesus having gone into the temple, began to cast forth those selling and buying in the temple, and the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those selling the doves, he overthrew,
16 and he did not suffer that any might bear a vessel through the temple,
17 and he was teaching, saying to them, `Hath it not been written -- My house a house of prayer shall be called for all the nations, and ye did make it a den of robbers?'
18 And the scribes and the chief priests heard, and they were seeking how they shall destroy him, for they were afraid of him, because all the multitude was astonished at his teaching;
19 and when evening came, he was going forth without the city.
20 And in the morning, passing by, they saw the fig-tree having been dried up from the roots,
21 and Peter having remembered saith to him, `Rabbi, lo, the fig-tree that thou didst curse is dried up.'
22 And Jesus answering saith to them, `Have faith of God;
23 for verily I say to you, that whoever may say to this mount, Be taken up, and be cast into the sea, and may not doubt in his heart, but may believe that the things that he saith do come to pass, it shall be to him whatever he may say.
24 Because of this I say to you, all whatever -- praying -- ye do ask, believe that ye receive, and it shall be to you.
25 `And whenever ye may stand praying, forgive, if ye have anything against any one, that your Father also who is in the heavens may forgive you your trespasses;
26 and, if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in the heavens forgive your trespasses.'

Jesus Curses a Fig Tree and Clears the Temple Courts(A)(B)(C)
12 The next day as they were leaving Bethany, Jesus was hungry. 13 Seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to find out if it had any fruit. When he reached it, he found nothing but leaves, because it was not the season for figs.(D) 14 Then he said to the tree, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again.” And his disciples heard him say it.
15 On reaching Jerusalem, Jesus entered the temple courts and began driving out those who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves, 16 and would not allow anyone to carry merchandise through the temple courts. 17 And as he taught them, he said, “Is it not written: ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations’[a]?(E) But you have made it ‘a den of robbers.’[b]”(F)
18 The chief priests and the teachers of the law heard this and began looking for a way to kill him, for they feared him,(G) because the whole crowd was amazed at his teaching.(H)
19 When evening came, Jesus and his disciples[c] went out of the city.(I)
20 In the morning, as they went along, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots. 21 Peter remembered and said to Jesus, “Rabbi,(J) look! The fig tree you cursed has withered!”
22 “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. 23 “Truly[d] I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.(K) 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.(L) 25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”(M) [26] [e]
