Jézus szombaton gyógyít(A)
3 Ezután ismét a zsinagógába ment. Volt ott egy sorvadt kezű ember;
2 figyelték Jézust: vajon meggyógyítja-e szombaton, hogy vádat emelhessenek ellene.
3 Ekkor ezt mondta a sorvadt kezű embernek: "Állj ki középre!"
4 Hozzájuk pedig így szólt: "Szabad-e szombaton jót tenni, vagy rosszat tenni, életet megmenteni, vagy kioltani?" De azok hallgattak.
5 Ekkor haragosan végignézett rajtuk, és sajnálta őket szívük keménysége miatt; majd így szólt ahhoz az emberhez: "Nyújtsd ki a kezedet!" Erre az kinyújtotta, és meggyógyult a keze.
6 A farizeusok pedig kimenve, a Heródes-pártiakkal együtt azonnal arról tanácskoztak, hogyan végezzenek vele.
Jézus sok beteget gyógyít a tenger mellett(B)
7 Jézus pedig tanítványaival együtt elvonult a tenger mellé, ahová nagy sokaság követte Galileából;
8 valamint Júdeából és Jeruzsálemből, sőt Idumeából, a Jordánon túlról, Tírusz és Szidón környékéről is nagy sokaság ment hozzá, amikor hallottak arról, milyen nagy dolgokat visz véghez.
9 Jézus pedig szólt tanítványainak: legyen készen számára egy csónak a sokaság miatt, hogy ne tolongjanak körülötte.
10 Mert sok embert meggyógyított, úgyhogy akinek valami baja volt, megrohanta őt, hogy megérinthesse.
11 A tisztátalan lelkek pedig, amikor látták őt, leborultak előtte, és így kiáltoztak: "Te vagy az Isten Fia!"
12 Ő azonban ezt erélyesen megtiltotta nekik, nehogy felfedjék kilétét.
A tizenkét tanítvány elhívása(C)
13 Azután felment a hegyre, és magához hívta, akiket akart; ők pedig odamentek hozzá.
14 Tizenkettőt választott ki arra, hogy vele legyenek, és azután elküldje őket, hogy hirdessék az igét,
15 és hogy a tőle kapott hatalommal kiűzzék az ördögöket.
16 Kiválasztotta tehát a tizenkettőt: Simont, akinek a Péter nevet adta,

Jézus rokonainak a szándéka
20 Azután hazament, és ismét összegyűlt a sokaság, úgyhogy ők még enni sem tudtak emiatt.
21 Amikor ezt meghallották hozzátartozói, elindultak, hogy elfogják, mivel azt mondták: magán kívül van.
Jézust Belzebub szövetségesének mondják(D)
22 Az írástudók pedig, akik Jeruzsálemből jöttek le, azt mondták, hogy Belzebub van benne, és hogy az ördögök fejedelmének a segítségével űzi ki az ördögöket.
23 Jézus odahívta őket, és példázatokban szólt hozzájuk: "Hogyan űzheti ki a Sátán a Sátánt?
24 Ha egy ország meghasonlik önmagával, nem maradhat meg az az ország;
25 és ha egy háznép hasonlik meg önmagával, az a háznép sem maradhat meg.
26 Ha tehát a Sátán önmaga ellen támadt, és meghasonlott, akkor szintén nem maradhat meg tovább, hanem vége van.
27 Viszont senki sincs, aki egy erős ember házába hatolva el tudná rabolni annak javait, hacsak előbb meg nem kötözi azt az erős embert; akkor kirabolhatja a házát."
28 "Bizony, mondom néktek, minden bűn meg fog bocsáttatni az emberek fiainak, még a káromlások is, bármennyi káromlást szólnak,
29 de ha valaki a Szentlelket káromolja, az nem nyer bocsánatot soha, hanem vétkes marad bűne miatt örökké."

Healing on the Sabbath(A)
3 And (B)He entered the synagogue again, and a man was there who had a withered hand. 2 So they (C)watched Him closely, whether He would (D)heal him on the Sabbath, so that they might [a]accuse Him. 3 And He said to the man who had the withered hand, [b]“Step forward.” 4 Then He said to them, “Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they kept silent. 5 And when He had looked around at them with anger, being grieved by the (E)hardness of their hearts, He said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored [c]as whole as the other. 6 (F)Then the Pharisees went out and immediately plotted with (G)the Herodians against Him, how they might destroy Him.
A Great Multitude Follows Jesus(H)
7 But Jesus withdrew with His disciples to the sea. And a great multitude from Galilee followed Him, (I)and from Judea 8 and Jerusalem and Idumea and beyond the Jordan; and those from Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they heard how (J)many things He was doing, came to Him. 9 So He told His disciples that a small boat should be kept ready for Him because of the multitude, lest they should crush Him. 10 For He healed (K)many, so that as many as had afflictions pressed about Him to (L)touch Him. 11 (M)And the unclean spirits, whenever they saw Him, fell down before Him and cried out, saying, (N)“You are the Son of God.” 12 But (O)He sternly warned them that they should not make Him known.
The Twelve Apostles(P)
13 (Q)And He went up on the mountain and called to Him those He Himself wanted. And they came to Him. 14 Then He appointed twelve, [d]that they might be with Him and that He might send them out to preach, 15 and to have [e]power [f]to heal sicknesses and to cast out demons: 16 [g]Simon, (R)to whom He gave the name Peter; 17 James the son of Zebedee and John the brother of James, to whom He gave the name Boanerges, that is, “Sons of Thunder”; 18 Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus, Simon the Cananite; 19 and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed Him. And they went into a house.
A House Divided Cannot Stand(S)
20 Then the multitude came together again, (T)so that they could not so much as eat bread. 21 But when His (U)own people heard about this, they went out to lay hold of Him, (V)for they said, “He is out of His mind.”
22 And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, (W)“He has Beelzebub,” and, “By the (X)ruler of the demons He casts out demons.”
23 (Y)So He called them to Himself and said to them in parables: “How can Satan cast out Satan? 24 If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25 And if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. 26 And if Satan has risen up against himself, and is divided, he cannot stand, but has an end. 27 (Z)No one can enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. And then he will plunder his house.
The Unpardonable Sin(AA)
28 (AB)“Assuredly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they may utter; 29 but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation”— 30 because they (AC)said, “He has an unclean spirit.”
Jesus’ Mother and Brothers Send for Him(AD)
31 (AE)Then His brothers and His mother came, and standing outside they sent to Him, calling Him. 32 And a multitude was sitting around Him; and they said to Him, “Look, Your mother and Your brothers [h]are outside seeking You.”
33 But He answered them, saying, “Who is My mother, or My brothers?” 34 And He looked around in a circle at those who sat about Him, and said, “Here are My mother and My brothers! 35 For whoever does the (AF)will of God is My brother and My sister and mother.”

Jesus Heals on the Sabbath
3 Another time Jesus went into the synagogue,(A) and a man with a shriveled hand was there. 2 Some of them were looking for a reason to accuse Jesus, so they watched him closely(B) to see if he would heal him on the Sabbath.(C) 3 Jesus said to the man with the shriveled hand, “Stand up in front of everyone.”
4 Then Jesus asked them, “Which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they remained silent.
5 He looked around at them in anger and, deeply distressed at their stubborn hearts, said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand was completely restored. 6 Then the Pharisees went out and began to plot with the Herodians(D) how they might kill Jesus.(E)
Crowds Follow Jesus(F)
7 Jesus withdrew with his disciples to the lake, and a large crowd from Galilee followed.(G) 8 When they heard about all he was doing, many people came to him from Judea, Jerusalem, Idumea, and the regions across the Jordan and around Tyre and Sidon.(H) 9 Because of the crowd he told his disciples to have a small boat ready for him, to keep the people from crowding him. 10 For he had healed many,(I) so that those with diseases were pushing forward to touch him.(J) 11 Whenever the impure spirits saw him, they fell down before him and cried out, “You are the Son of God.”(K) 12 But he gave them strict orders not to tell others about him.(L)
Jesus Appoints the Twelve(M)
13 Jesus went up on a mountainside and called to him those he wanted, and they came to him.(N) 14 He appointed twelve[a](O) that they might be with him and that he might send them out to preach 15 and to have authority to drive out demons.(P) 16 These are the twelve he appointed: Simon (to whom he gave the name Peter),(Q) 17 James son of Zebedee and his brother John (to them he gave the name Boanerges, which means “sons of thunder”), 18 Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James son of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus, Simon the Zealot 19 and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him.
Jesus Accused by His Family and by Teachers of the Law(R)(S)
20 Then Jesus entered a house, and again a crowd gathered,(T) so that he and his disciples were not even able to eat.(U) 21 When his family[b] heard about this, they went to take charge of him, for they said, “He is out of his mind.”(V)
22 And the teachers of the law who came down from Jerusalem(W) said, “He is possessed by Beelzebul!(X) By the prince of demons he is driving out demons.”(Y)
23 So Jesus called them over to him and began to speak to them in parables:(Z) “How can Satan(AA) drive out Satan? 24 If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25 If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. 26 And if Satan opposes himself and is divided, he cannot stand; his end has come. 27 In fact, no one can enter a strong man’s house without first tying him up. Then he can plunder the strong man’s house.(AB) 28 Truly I tell you, people can be forgiven all their sins and every slander they utter, 29 but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; they are guilty of an eternal sin.”(AC)
30 He said this because they were saying, “He has an impure spirit.”
31 Then Jesus’ mother and brothers arrived.(AD) Standing outside, they sent someone in to call him. 32 A crowd was sitting around him, and they told him, “Your mother and brothers are outside looking for you.”
33 “Who are my mother and my brothers?” he asked.
34 Then he looked at those seated in a circle around him and said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! 35 Whoever does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.”
