16 耶 稣 又 对 门 徒 说 ： 有 一 个 财 主 的 管 家 ， 别 人 向 他 主 人 告 他 浪 费 主 人 的 财 物 。
2 主 人 叫 他 来 ， 对 他 说 ： 我 听 见 你 这 事 怎 麽 样 呢 ？ 把 你 所 经 管 的 交 代 明 白 ， 因 你 不 能 再 作 我 的 管 家 。
3 那 管 家 心 里 说 ： 主 人 辞 我 ， 不 用 我 再 作 管 家 ， 我 将 来 作 甚 麽 ？ 锄 地 呢 ？ 无 力 ； 讨 饭 呢 ？ 怕 羞 。
4 我 知 道 怎 麽 行 ， 好 叫 人 在 我 不 作 管 家 之 後 ， 接 我 到 他 们 家 里 去 。
5 於 是 把 欠 他 主 人 债 的 ， 一 个 一 个 的 叫 了 来 ， 问 头 一 个 说 ： 你 欠 我 主 人 多 少 ？
6 他 说 ： 一 百 篓 （ 每 篓 约 五 十 斤 ） 油 。 管 家 说 ： 拿 你 的 账 ， 快 坐 下 ， 写 五 十 。
7 又 问 一 个 说 ： 你 欠 多 少 ？ 他 说 ： 一 百 石 麦 子 。 管 家 说 ： 拿 你 的 账 ， 写 八 十 。
8 主 人 就 夸 奖 这 不 义 的 管 家 做 事 聪 明 。 因 为 今 世 之 子 ， 在 世 事 之 上 ， 较 比 光 明 之 子 更 加 聪 明 。
9 我 又 告 诉 你 们 ， 要 藉 着 那 不 义 的 钱 财 结 交 朋 友 ， 到 了 钱 财 无 用 的 时 候 ， 他 们 可 以 接 你 们 到 永 存 的 帐 幕 里 去 。
10 人 在 最 小 的 事 上 忠 心 ， 在 大 事 上 也 忠 心 ； 在 最 小 的 事 上 不 义 ， 在 大 事 上 也 不 义 。
11 倘 若 你 们 在 不 义 的 钱 财 上 不 忠 心 ， 谁 还 把 那 真 实 的 钱 财 托 付 你 们 呢 ？
12 倘 若 你 们 在 别 人 的 东 西 上 不 忠 心 ， 谁 还 把 你 们 自 己 的 东 西 给 你 们 呢 ？
13 一 个 仆 人 不 能 事 奉 两 个 主 ； 不 是 恶 这 个 爱 那 个 ， 就 是 重 这 个 轻 那 个 。 你 们 不 能 又 事 奉 神 ， 又 事 奉 玛 门 。
14 法 利 赛 人 是 贪 爱 钱 财 的 ， 他 们 听 见 这 一 切 话 ， 就 嗤 笑 耶 稣 。
15 耶 稣 对 他 们 说 ： 你 们 是 在 人 面 前 自 称 为 义 的 ， 你 们 的 心 ， 神 却 知 道 ； 因 为 人 所 尊 贵 的 ， 是 神 看 为 可 憎 恶 的 。
16 律 法 和 先 知 到 约 翰 为 止 ， 从 此 神 国 的 福 音 传 开 了 ， 人 人 努 力 要 进 去 。
17 天 地 废 去 较 比 律 法 的 一 点 一 画 落 空 还 容 易 。
18 凡 休 妻 另 娶 的 就 是 犯 奸 淫 ； 娶 被 休 之 妻 的 也 是 犯 奸 淫 。
19 有 一 个 财 主 穿 着 紫 色 袍 和 细 麻 布 衣 服 ， 天 天 奢 华 宴 乐 。
20 又 有 一 个 讨 饭 的 ， 名 叫 拉 撒 路 ， 浑 身 生 疮 ， 被 人 放 在 财 主 门 口 ，
21 要 得 财 主 桌 子 上 掉 下 来 的 零 碎 充 饥 ； 并 且 狗 来 ? 他 的 疮 。
22 後 来 那 讨 饭 的 死 了 ， 被 天 使 带 去 放 在 亚 伯 拉 罕 的 怀 里 。 财 主 也 死 了 ， 并 且 埋 葬 了 。
23 他 在 阴 间 受 痛 苦 ， 举 目 远 远 的 望 见 亚 伯 拉 罕 ， 又 望 见 拉 撒 路 在 他 怀 里 ，
24 就 喊 着 说 ： 我 祖 亚 伯 拉 罕 哪 ， 可 怜 我 罢 ！ 打 发 拉 撒 路 来 ， 用 指 头 尖 蘸 点 水 ， 凉 凉 我 的 舌 头 ； 因 为 我 在 这 火 焰 里 ， 极 其 痛 苦 。
25 亚 伯 拉 罕 说 ： 儿 阿 ， 你 该 回 想 你 生 前 享 过 福 ， 拉 撒 路 也 受 过 苦 ； 如 今 他 在 这 里 得 安 慰 ， 你 倒 受 痛 苦 。
26 不 但 这 样 ， 并 且 在 你 我 之 间 ， 有 深 渊 限 定 ， 以 致 人 要 从 这 边 过 到 你 们 那 边 是 不 能 的 ； 要 从 那 边 过 到 我 们 这 边 也 是 不 能 的 。
27 财 主 说 ： 我 祖 阿 ！ 既 是 这 样 ， 求 你 打 发 拉 撒 路 到 我 父 家 去 ；
28 因 为 我 还 有 五 个 弟 兄 ， 他 可 以 对 他 们 作 见 证 ， 免 得 他 们 也 来 到 这 痛 苦 的 地 方 。
29 亚 伯 拉 罕 说 ： 他 们 有 摩 西 和 先 知 的 话 可 以 听 从 。
30 他 说 ： 我 祖 亚 伯 拉 罕 哪 ， 不 是 的 ， 若 有 一 个 从 死 里 复 活 的 ， 到 他 们 那 里 去 的 ， 他 们 必 要 悔 改 。
31 亚 伯 拉 罕 说 ： 若 不 听 从 摩 西 和 先 知 的 话 ， 就 是 有 一 个 从 死 里 复 活 的 ， 他 们 也 是 不 听 劝 。
17 耶 稣 又 对 门 徒 说 ： 绊 倒 人 的 事 是 免 不 了 的 ； 但 那 绊 倒 人 的 有 祸 了 。
2 就 是 把 磨 石 拴 在 这 人 的 颈 项 上 ， 丢 在 海 里 ， 还 强 如 他 把 这 小 子 里 的 一 个 绊 倒 了 。
3 你 们 要 谨 慎 ！ 若 是 你 的 弟 兄 得 罪 你 ， 就 劝 戒 他 ； 他 若 懊 悔 ， 就 饶 恕 他 。
4 倘 若 他 一 天 七 次 得 罪 你 ， 又 七 次 回 转 ， 说 ： 我 懊 悔 了 ， 你 总 要 饶 恕 他 。
5 使 徒 对 主 说 ： 求 主 加 增 我 们 的 信 心 。
6 主 说 ： 你 们 若 有 信 心 像 一 粒 芥 菜 种 ， 就 是 对 这 棵 桑 树 说 ： 你 要 拔 起 根 来 ， 栽 在 海 里 ， 他 也 必 听 从 你 们 。
7 你 们 谁 有 仆 人 耕 地 或 是 放 羊 ， 从 田 里 回 来 ， 就 对 他 说 ： 你 快 来 坐 下 吃 饭 呢 ？
8 岂 不 对 他 说 ： 你 给 我 预 备 晚 饭 ， 束 上 带 子 伺 候 我 ， 等 我 吃 喝 完 了 ， 你 才 可 以 吃 喝 麽 ？
9 仆 人 照 所 吩 咐 的 去 做 ， 主 人 还 谢 谢 他 麽 ？
10 这 样 ， 你 们 做 完 了 一 切 所 吩 咐 的 ， 只 当 说 ： 我 们 是 无 用 的 仆 人 ， 所 做 的 本 是 我 们 应 分 做 的 。
11 耶 稣 往 耶 路 撒 冷 去 ， 经 过 撒 玛 利 亚 和 加 利 利 。
12 进 入 一 个 村 子 ， 有 十 个 长 大 ? 疯 的 ， 迎 面 而 来 ， 远 远 的 站 着 ，
13 高 声 说 ： 耶 稣 ， 夫 子 ， 可 怜 我 们 罢 ！
14 耶 稣 看 见 ， 就 对 他 们 说 ： 你 们 去 把 身 体 给 祭 司 察 看 。 他 们 去 的 时 候 就 洁 净 了 。
15 内 中 有 一 个 见 自 己 已 经 好 了 ， 就 回 来 大 声 归 荣 耀 与 神 ，
16 又 俯 伏 在 耶 稣 脚 前 感 谢 他 ； 这 人 是 撒 玛 利 亚 人 。
17 耶 稣 说 ： 洁 净 了 的 不 是 十 个 人 麽 ？ 那 九 个 在 那 里 呢 ？
18 除 了 这 外 族 人 ， 再 没 有 别 人 回 来 归 荣 耀 与 神 麽 ？
19 就 对 那 人 说 ： 起 来 ， 走 罢 ！ 你 的 信 救 了 你 了 。
20 法 利 赛 人 问 ： 神 的 国 几 时 来 到 ？ 耶 稣 回 答 说 ： 神 的 国 来 到 不 是 眼 所 能 见 的 。
21 人 也 不 得 说 ： 看 哪 ， 在 这 里 ！ 看 哪 ， 在 那 里 ！ 因 为 神 的 国 就 在 你 们 心 里 （ 心 里 ： 或 作 中 间 ） 。
22 他 又 对 门 徒 说 ： 日 子 将 到 ， 你 们 巴 不 得 看 见 人 子 的 一 个 日 子 ， 却 不 得 看 见 。
23 人 将 要 对 你 们 说 ： 看 哪 ， 在 那 里 ！ 看 哪 ， 在 这 里 ！ 你 们 不 要 出 去 ， 也 不 要 跟 随 他 们 ！
24 因 为 人 子 在 他 降 临 的 日 子 ， 好 像 闪 电 从 天 这 边 一 闪 直 照 到 天 那 边 。
25 只 是 他 必 须 先 受 许 多 苦 ， 又 被 这 世 代 弃 绝 。
26 挪 亚 的 日 子 怎 样 ， 人 子 的 日 子 也 要 怎 样 。
27 那 时 候 的 人 又 吃 又 喝 ， 又 娶 又 嫁 ， 到 挪 亚 进 方 舟 的 那 日 ， 洪 水 就 来 ， 把 他 们 全 都 灭 了 。
28 又 好 像 罗 得 的 日 子 ； 人 又 吃 又 喝 ， 又 买 又 卖 ， 又 耕 种 又 盖 造 。
29 到 罗 得 出 所 多 玛 的 那 日 ， 就 有 火 与 硫 磺 从 天 上 降 下 来 ， 把 他 们 全 都 灭 了 。
30 人 子 显 现 的 日 子 也 要 这 样 。
31 当 那 日 ， 人 在 房 上 ， 器 具 在 屋 里 ， 不 要 下 来 拿 ； 人 在 田 里 ， 也 不 要 回 家 。
32 你 们 要 回 想 罗 得 的 妻 子 。
33 凡 想 要 保 全 生 命 的 ， 必 丧 掉 生 命 ； 凡 丧 掉 生 命 的 ， 必 救 活 生 命 。
34 我 对 你 们 说 ， 当 那 一 夜 ， 两 个 人 在 一 个 床 上 ， 要 取 去 一 个 ， 撇 下 一 个 。
35 两 个 女 人 一 同 推 磨 ； 要 取 去 一 个 ， 撇 下 一 个 。 （ 有 古 卷 在 此 有 ：
36 两 个 人 在 田 里 ， 要 取 去 一 个 ， 撇 下 一 个 。 ）
37 门 徒 说 ： 主 阿 ， 在 那 里 有 这 事 呢 ？ 耶 稣 说 ： 尸 首 在 那 里 ， 鹰 也 必 聚 在 那 里 。
18 耶 稣 设 一 个 比 喻 ， 是 要 人 常 常 祷 告 ， 不 可 灰 心 。
2 说 ： 某 城 里 有 一 个 官 ， 不 惧 怕 神 ， 也 不 尊 重 世 人 。
3 那 城 里 有 个 寡 妇 ， 常 到 他 那 里 ， 说 ： 我 有 一 个 对 头 ， 求 你 给 我 伸 冤 。
4 他 多 日 不 准 。 後 来 心 里 说 ： 我 虽 不 惧 怕 神 ， 也 不 尊 重 世 人 ，
5 只 因 这 寡 妇 烦 扰 我 ， 我 就 给 他 伸 冤 罢 ， 免 得 他 常 来 缠 磨 我 ！
6 主 说 ： 你 们 听 这 不 义 之 官 所 说 的 话 。
7 神 的 选 民 昼 夜 呼 吁 他 ， 他 纵 然 为 他 们 忍 了 多 时 ， 岂 不 终 久 给 他 们 伸 冤 麽 ？
8 我 告 诉 你 们 ， 要 快 快 的 给 他 们 伸 冤 了 。 然 而 ， 人 子 来 的 时 候 ， 遇 得 见 世 上 有 信 德 麽 ？
9 耶 稣 向 那 些 仗 着 自 己 是 义 人 ， 藐 视 别 人 的 ， 设 一 个 比 喻 ，
10 说 ： 有 两 个 人 上 殿 里 去 祷 告 ： 一 个 是 法 利 赛 人 ， 一 个 是 税 吏 。
11 法 利 赛 人 站 着 ， 自 言 自 语 的 祷 告 说 ： 神 阿 ， 我 感 谢 你 ， 我 不 像 别 人 勒 索 、 不 义 、 奸 淫 ， 也 不 像 这 个 税 吏 。
12 我 一 个 礼 拜 禁 食 两 次 ， 凡 我 所 得 的 都 捐 上 十 分 之 一 。
13 那 税 吏 远 远 的 站 着 ， 连 举 目 望 天 也 不 敢 ， 只 捶 着 胸 说 ： 神 阿 ， 开 恩 可 怜 我 这 个 罪 人 ！
14 我 告 诉 你 们 ， 这 人 回 家 去 比 那 人 倒 算 为 义 了 ； 因 为 ， 凡 自 高 的 ， 必 降 为 卑 ； 自 卑 的 ， 必 升 为 高 。
15 有 人 抱 着 自 己 的 婴 孩 来 见 耶 稣 ， 要 他 摸 他 们 ； 门 徒 看 见 就 责 备 那 些 人 。
16 耶 稣 却 叫 他 们 来 ， 说 ： 让 小 孩 子 到 我 这 里 来 ， 不 要 禁 止 他 们 ； 因 为 在 神 国 的 正 是 这 样 的 人 。
17 我 实 在 告 诉 你 们 ， 凡 要 承 受 神 国 的 ， 若 不 像 小 孩 子 ， 断 不 能 进 去 。
18 有 一 个 官 问 耶 稣 说 ： 良 善 的 夫 子 ， 我 该 做 甚 麽 事 才 可 以 承 受 永 生 ？
19 耶 稣 对 他 说 ： 你 为 甚 麽 称 我 是 良 善 的 ？ 除 了 神 一 位 之 外 ， 再 没 有 良 善 的 。
20 诫 命 你 是 晓 得 的 ： 不 可 奸 淫 ； 不 可 杀 人 ； 不 可 偷 盗 ； 不 可 作 假 见 证 ； 当 孝 敬 父 母 。
21 那 人 说 ： 这 一 切 我 从 小 都 遵 守 了 。
22 耶 稣 听 见 了 ， 就 说 ： 你 还 缺 少 一 件 ： 要 变 卖 你 一 切 所 有 的 ， 分 给 穷 人 ， 就 必 有 财 宝 在 天 上 ； 你 还 要 来 跟 从 我 。
23 他 听 见 这 话 ， 就 甚 忧 愁 ， 因 为 他 很 富 足 。
24 耶 稣 看 见 他 ， 就 说 ： 有 钱 财 的 人 进 神 的 国 是 何 等 的 难 哪 ！
25 骆 驼 穿 过 针 的 眼 比 财 主 进 神 的 国 还 容 易 呢 ！
26 听 见 的 人 说 ： 这 样 ， 谁 能 得 救 呢 ？
27 耶 稣 说 ： 在 人 所 不 能 的 事 ， 在 神 却 能 。
28 彼 得 说 ： 看 哪 ， 我 们 已 经 撇 下 自 己 所 有 的 跟 从 你 了 。
29 耶 稣 说 ： 我 实 在 告 诉 你 们 ， 人 为 神 的 国 撇 下 房 屋 ， 或 是 妻 子 、 弟 兄 、 父 母 、 儿 女 ，
30 没 有 在 今 世 不 得 百 倍 ， 在 来 世 不 得 永 生 的 。
31 耶 稣 带 着 十 二 个 门 徒 ， 对 他 们 说 ： 看 哪 ， 我 们 上 耶 路 撒 冷 去 ， 先 知 所 写 的 一 切 事 都 要 成 就 在 人 子 身 上 。
32 他 将 要 被 交 给 外 邦 人 ， 他 们 要 戏 弄 他 ， 凌 辱 他 ， 吐 唾 沫 在 他 脸 上 ，
33 并 要 鞭 打 他 ， 杀 害 他 ； 第 三 日 他 要 复 活 。
34 这 些 事 门 徒 一 样 也 不 懂 得 ， 意 思 乃 是 隐 藏 的 ； 他 们 不 晓 得 所 说 的 是 甚 麽 。
35 耶 稣 将 近 耶 利 哥 的 时 候 ， 有 一 个 瞎 子 坐 在 路 旁 讨 饭 。
36 听 见 许 多 人 经 过 ， 就 问 是 甚 麽 事 。
37 他 们 告 诉 他 ， 是 拿 撒 勒 人 耶 稣 经 过 。
38 他 就 呼 叫 说 ： 大 卫 的 子 孙 耶 稣 阿 ， 可 怜 我 罢 ！
39 在 前 头 走 的 人 就 责 备 他 ， 不 许 他 作 声 ； 他 却 越 发 喊 叫 说 ： 大 卫 的 子 孙 ， 可 怜 我 罢 ！
40 耶 稣 站 住 ， 吩 咐 把 他 领 过 来 ， 到 了 跟 前 ， 就 问 他 说 ：
41 你 要 我 为 你 做 甚 麽 ？ 他 说 ： 主 阿 ， 我 要 能 看 见 。
42 耶 稣 说 ： 你 可 以 看 见 ！ 你 的 信 救 了 你 了 。
43 瞎 子 立 刻 看 见 了 ， 就 跟 随 耶 稣 ， 一 路 归 荣 耀 与 神 。 众 人 看 见 这 事 ， 也 赞 美 神 。
19 耶 稣 进 了 耶 利 哥 ， 正 经 过 的 时 候 ，
2 有 一 个 人 名 叫 撒 该 ， 作 税 吏 长 ， 是 个 财 主 。
3 他 要 看 看 耶 稣 是 怎 样 的 人 ； 只 因 人 多 ， 他 的 身 量 又 矮 ， 所 以 不 得 看 见 ，
4 就 跑 到 前 头 ， 爬 上 桑 树 ， 要 看 耶 稣 ， 因 为 耶 稣 必 从 那 里 经 过 。
5 耶 稣 到 了 那 里 ， 抬 头 一 看 ， 对 他 说 ： 撒 该 ， 快 下 来 ！ 今 天 我 必 住 在 你 家 里 。
6 他 就 急 忙 下 来 ， 欢 欢 喜 喜 的 接 待 耶 稣 。
7 众 人 看 见 ， 都 私 下 议 论 说 ： 他 竟 到 罪 人 家 里 去 住 宿 。
8 撒 该 站 着 对 主 说 ： 主 阿 ， 我 把 所 有 的 一 半 给 穷 人 ； 我 若 讹 诈 了 谁 ， 就 还 他 四 倍 。
9 耶 稣 说 ： 今 天 救 恩 到 了 这 家 ， 因 为 他 也 是 亚 伯 拉 罕 的 子 孙 。
10 人 子 来 ， 为 要 寻 找 ， 拯 救 失 丧 的 人 。
11 众 人 正 在 听 见 这 些 话 的 时 候 ， 耶 稣 因 为 将 近 耶 路 撒 冷 ， 又 因 他 们 以 为 神 的 国 快 要 显 出 来 ， 就 另 设 一 个 比 喻 ， 说 ：
12 有 一 个 贵 胄 往 远 方 去 ， 要 得 国 回 来 ，
13 便 叫 了 他 的 十 个 仆 人 来 ， 交 给 他 们 十 锭 （ 锭 ： 原 文 作 弥 拿 约 银 十 两 ） 银 子 ， 说 ： 你 们 去 作 生 意 ， 直 等 我 回 来 。
14 他 本 国 的 人 却 恨 他 ， 打 发 使 者 随 後 去 ， 说 ： 我 们 不 愿 意 这 个 人 作 我 们 的 王 。
15 他 既 得 国 回 来 ， 就 吩 咐 叫 那 领 银 子 的 仆 人 来 ， 要 知 道 他 们 做 生 意 赚 了 多 少 。
16 头 一 个 上 来 ， 说 ： 主 阿 ， 你 的 一 锭 银 子 已 经 赚 了 十 锭 。
17 主 人 说 ： 好 ！ 良 善 的 仆 人 ， 你 既 在 最 小 的 事 上 有 忠 心 ， 可 以 有 权 柄 管 十 座 城 。
18 第 二 个 来 ， 说 ： 主 阿 ！ 你 的 一 锭 银 子 ， 已 经 赚 了 五 锭 。
19 主 人 说 ： 你 也 可 以 管 五 座 城 。
20 又 有 一 个 来 说 ： 主 阿 ， 看 哪 ， 你 的 一 锭 银 子 在 这 里 ， 我 把 他 包 在 手 巾 里 存 着 。
21 我 原 是 怕 你 ， 因 为 你 是 严 厉 的 人 ； 没 有 放 下 的 ， 还 要 去 拿 ； 没 有 种 下 的 ， 还 要 去 收 。
22 主 人 对 他 说 ： 你 这 恶 仆 ， 我 要 凭 你 的 口 定 你 的 罪 。 你 既 知 道 我 是 严 厉 的 人 ， 没 有 放 下 的 ， 还 要 去 拿 ， 没 有 种 下 的 ， 还 要 去 收 ，
23 为 甚 麽 不 把 我 的 银 子 交 给 银 行 ， 等 我 来 的 时 候 ， 连 本 带 利 都 可 以 要 回 来 呢 ？
24 就 对 旁 边 站 着 的 人 说 ： 夺 过 他 这 一 锭 来 ， 给 那 有 十 锭 的 。
25 他 们 说 ： 主 阿 ， 他 已 经 有 十 锭 了 。
26 主 人 说 ： 我 告 诉 你 们 ， 凡 有 的 ， 还 要 加 给 他 ； 没 有 的 ， 连 他 所 有 的 也 要 夺 过 来 。
27 至 於 我 那 些 仇 敌 ， 不 要 我 作 他 们 王 的 ， 把 他 们 拉 来 ， 在 我 面 前 杀 了 罢 ！
28 耶 稣 说 完 了 这 话 ， 就 在 前 面 走 ， 上 耶 路 撒 冷 去 。
29 将 近 伯 法 其 和 伯 大 尼 ， 在 一 座 山 名 叫 橄 榄 山 那 里 ， 就 打 发 两 个 门 徒 ， 说 ：
30 你 们 往 对 面 村 子 里 去 ， 进 去 的 时 候 ， 必 看 见 一 匹 驴 驹 拴 在 那 里 ， 是 从 来 没 有 人 骑 过 的 ， 可 以 解 开 牵 来 。
31 若 有 人 问 为 甚 麽 解 他 ， 你 们 就 说 ： 主 要 用 他 。
32 打 发 的 人 去 了 ， 所 遇 见 的 正 如 耶 稣 所 说 的 。
33 他 们 解 驴 驹 的 时 候 ， 主 人 问 他 们 说 ： 解 驴 驹 做 甚 麽 ？
34 他 们 说 ： 主 要 用 他 。
35 他 们 牵 到 耶 稣 那 里 ， 把 自 己 的 衣 服 搭 在 上 面 ， 扶 着 耶 稣 骑 上 。
36 走 的 时 候 ， 众 人 把 衣 服 铺 在 路 上 。
37 将 近 耶 路 撒 冷 ， 正 下 橄 榄 山 的 时 候 ， 众 门 徒 因 所 见 过 的 一 切 异 能 ， 都 欢 乐 起 来 ， 大 声 赞 美 神 ，
38 说 ： 奉 主 名 来 的 王 是 应 当 称 颂 的 ！ 在 天 上 有 和 平 ； 在 至 高 之 处 有 荣 光 。
39 众 人 中 有 几 个 法 利 赛 人 对 耶 稣 说 ： 夫 子 ， 责 备 你 的 门 徒 罢 ！
40 耶 稣 说 ： 我 告 诉 你 们 ， 若 是 他 们 闭 口 不 说 ， 这 些 石 头 必 要 呼 叫 起 来 。

8 耶 稣 说 ： 我 也 不 告 诉 你 们 ， 我 仗 着 甚 麽 权 柄 做 这 些 事 。
9 耶 稣 就 设 比 喻 对 百 姓 说 ： 有 人 栽 了 一 个 葡 萄 园 ， 租 给 园 户 ， 就 往 外 国 去 住 了 许 久 。

19 文 士 和 祭 司 长 看 出 这 比 喻 是 指 着 他 们 说 的 ， 当 时 就 想 要 下 手 拿 他 ， 只 是 惧 怕 百 姓 。
20 於 是 窥 探 耶 稣 ， 打 发 奸 细 装 作 好 人 ， 要 在 他 的 话 上 得 把 柄 ， 好 将 他 交 在 巡 抚 的 政 权 之 下 。
21 奸 细 就 问 耶 稣 说 ： 夫 子 ， 我 们 晓 得 你 所 讲 所 传 都 是 正 道 ， 也 不 取 人 的 外 貌 ， 乃 是 诚 诚 实 实 传 神 的 道 。
22 我 们 纳 税 给 该 撒 ， 可 以 不 可 以 ？
23 耶 稣 看 出 他 们 的 诡 诈 ， 就 对 他 们 说 ：
24 拿 一 个 银 钱 来 给 我 看 。 这 像 和 这 号 是 谁 的 ？ 他 们 说 ： 是 该 撒 的 。

16 耶稣又对门徒说：“某财主有个管家，有人控告这管家浪费主人的财物。 2 财主便把管家召来，对他说，‘听说你浪费我的财物，到底是怎么回事？把帐目交代清楚，你不能再当管家了。’
3 “管家私下盘算，‘主人要辞退我了，怎么办呢？锄地我没有力气，讨饭我又感到羞耻。 4 我知道该怎么办了！就算被辞退了，也会有人照应我。’ 5 于是，他把欠他主人债的一个一个召来，问第一个，‘你欠了我主人多少？’
6 “他回答说，‘一百桶油。’
“管家说，‘这是你的帐，快坐下，改成五十吧！’
7 “管家又问另一个，‘你欠多少？’
“他回答说，‘一百石麦子。’
“管家说，‘这是你的帐，改成八十石吧。’
8 “主人夸奖这个不义的管家精明。因为今世的儿女在处理世事方面比光明的儿女更精明。
9 “我告诉你们，要善用今世[a]的钱财，广结朋友。这样，当钱财不管用时，他们会接你们到永远的居所。
见微知著
10 “一个人在小事上忠心，在大事上也会忠心；在小事上靠不住，在大事上更靠不住。 11 如果你们不能忠心地处理今世的财富，谁会把真正的财富交托给你们呢？ 12 如果你们不能忠心地处理别人的产业，谁会把你们名下的产业交给你们呢？ 13 一个仆人不能服侍两位主人，因为他不是恨这位、爱那位，就是重这位、轻那位。你们不能又事奉上帝，又崇拜金钱。”
警戒贪财的法利赛人
14 法利赛人向来贪财，他们一面听一面嗤笑耶稣。 15 耶稣对他们说：“你们在人面前自以为义，但上帝能看透你们的心。因为世人所看重的东西在上帝看来却是可憎的。 16 约翰还没有来以前，律法书和先知书是你们的准则。他出来后，上帝国的福音开始广传，人人都在努力进上帝的国。 17 不过，就是天地都消失，律法的一点一划也不会失效。 18 任何人休妻另娶，就是犯通奸罪，娶被休的女子也是犯通奸罪。”
财主和乞丐
19 耶稣又说：“有个财主天天衣着华丽，生活奢侈。 20 又有一个名叫拉撒路的乞丐身上长满了脓疮，被人放在财主家门口。 21 他渴望吃到财主桌上掉下来的食物残渣，却只有狗来舔他的疮。
22 “后来，乞丐死了，天使带他到亚伯拉罕身边。财主也死了，被人埋葬了。 23 他在阴间受折磨，抬头远远地看见亚伯拉罕和他身边的拉撒路， 24 就喊着说，‘我的先祖亚伯拉罕啊！求你可怜我，派拉撒路用指尖蘸点水来润润我的舌头吧！我在这火中实在痛苦不堪。’
25 “亚伯拉罕说，‘孩子啊！你要想想，你生前享福，而拉撒路受苦；如今他在这里得到安慰，而你受折磨。 26 况且，在你我中间隔着一道深渊，这边的人不能到你那边去，你那边的人也不能到这里来。’
27 “财主说，‘我的先祖啊，那么求你派拉撒路去我父亲家里， 28 因为我有五个弟兄。让拉撒路去警告他们，以免他们也来到这痛苦的地方。’
29 “但是亚伯拉罕却说，‘他们可以听从摩西和众先知的话呀！’
30 “财主回答说，‘我的先祖亚伯拉罕啊！他们不会听的。但如果有一个死而复活的人去警告他们，他们肯定会悔改！’
31 “亚伯拉罕说，‘如果他们不听从摩西和众先知的话，即使一个人从死里复活，他们也不会信服。’”
论罪、信心和本分
17 耶稣教导门徒说：“引人犯罪的事是免不了的，但引人犯罪的人有祸了。 2 谁使一个卑微的弟兄失足犯罪，他的下场比把大磨石拴在他脖子上扔到海里还要惨。 3 你们要小心谨慎！你的弟兄若犯了罪，要责备他。他若悔改，要饶恕他。 4 就算他一天得罪你七次，每次都对你说，‘我悔改’，你都要饶恕他。”
5 使徒对主说：“请你加添我们的信心。”
6 主说：“如果你们的信心像一粒芥菜种那么大，便可对这棵桑树说，‘连根拔起，栽在大海里！’它必服从你们。
7 “你们谁会对种田或放羊回来的奴仆说，‘请赶快坐下来吃饭’？ 8 不都是吩咐他‘给我准备晚饭，束上腰带伺候我用餐，等我吃完，你才可以吃’吗？ 9 奴仆照着吩咐去做，主人会谢他吗？ 10 同样，你们照着吩咐把事情办妥后，也该这样说，‘我们是无用的奴仆，所做的不过是分内的事。’”
十个麻风病人
11 耶稣继续前往耶路撒冷，途经撒玛利亚和加利利的交界处。 12 祂进入一个村庄时，十个麻风病人迎面而来。他们远远地站着， 13 高声呼喊道：“耶稣，老师啊，求你可怜我们吧！”
14 耶稣看见他们，就说：“去让祭司察看你们的身体。”
他们去的时候，就洁净了。 15 其中一个发现自己痊愈了，就跑回来，高声赞美上帝， 16 又俯伏在耶稣的脚前连连称谢。这人是撒玛利亚人。
17 耶稣说：“被医好的不是有十个人吗？其他九个呢？ 18 回来赞美称颂上帝的只有这个外族人吗？” 19 于是祂对那人说：“起来回去吧！你的信心救了你。”
上帝国的降临
20 法利赛人问耶稣：“上帝的国什么时候降临？”
耶稣回答说：“上帝国的降临并没有看得见的征兆。 21 所以没有人能说，‘上帝的国在这里’，或说，‘在那里’，因为上帝的国就在你们心里[b]。”
22 祂又对门徒说：“时候将到，你们将渴望见到人子降临的日子，可是你们却见不到。 23 有人将对你们说，‘看啊，祂在这里！’或说，‘看啊，祂在那里！’你们不要出去，也不要追随他们。 24 因为人子降临的时候必如划过长空的闪电，从天这边一直照亮到天那边。 25 但祂必须先受苦，被这个世代弃绝。
26 “人子降临时的情形将像挪亚的时代， 27 人们吃喝嫁娶，一直到挪亚进入方舟那天，洪水来了，毁灭了他们； 28 又像罗得的时代，人们吃喝、做买卖、耕地、盖房。 29 在罗得离开所多玛那天，烈火和硫磺从天而降，把他们全毁灭了。
30 “人子显现之日的情形也是如此。 31 那天，在自己屋顶上的，不要下来收拾行李；在田里工作的，也不要回家。 32 你们要记住罗得妻子的事。 33 想保全生命的，必丧失生命；丧失生命的，必保全生命。 34 我告诉你们，那天晚上，两个人睡在一张床上，一个将被接去，一个将被撇下； 35 两个女人一起推磨，一个将被接去，一个将被撇下； 36 两个人在田间，一个将被接去，一个将被撇下。[c]”
37 门徒问：“主啊，在哪里有这事呢？”
耶稣回答说：“尸体在哪里，秃鹰就会聚集在哪里。”
恒心祷告
18 耶稣讲了一个比喻来教导门徒要常常祷告，不要灰心。
2 祂说：“某城有一位既不敬畏上帝也不尊重人的审判官。 3 那城里有一位寡妇常常来哀求这位审判官，说，‘求你为我申冤，惩办我的对头。’ 4 审判官总是充耳不闻，但后来心里想，‘虽然我不怕上帝，也不在乎人， 5 可是这寡妇一直来烦我，还是替她申冤好了，免得她再来烦我！’”
6 主接着说：“你们听，这不义的审判官尚且这么说， 7 难道上帝听到祂拣选的人昼夜呼求，不替他们申冤吗？难道祂会一直耽延不理吗？ 8 我告诉你们，祂必很快为他们申冤。不过当人子来的时候，在世上找得到有信心的人吗？”
两种祷告
9 耶稣对那些自以为义、藐视别人的人讲了一个比喻： 10 “有两个人到圣殿里祷告，一个是法利赛人，一个是税吏。 11 法利赛人站在那里自言自语地祷告说，‘上帝啊！我感谢你，因为我不像别人那样勒索、不义、通奸，也不像这税吏。 12 我每周禁食两次，奉献全部收入的十分之一。’
13 “但那税吏却远远地站着，连头也不敢抬起来，捶着胸说，‘上帝啊，求你怜悯我这个罪人！’
14 “我告诉你们，二人回家后，被上帝算为义的是税吏而不是法利赛人，因为自高的人必遭贬抑，谦卑的人必得尊荣。”
祝福孩子
15 有许多人把婴孩带来要让耶稣摸一摸他们，为他们祝福，门徒看见，就责备这些人。 16 耶稣却招呼他们过来，并对门徒说：“让小孩子到我这里来，不要阻止他们，因为上帝的国属于这样的人。 17 我实在告诉你们，人若不像小孩子一样接受上帝的国，绝不能进去。”
富豪求问永生
18 一位官长问耶稣：“良善的老师，我该做什么才能承受永生？”
19 耶稣说：“你为什么称呼我‘良善的老师’呢？只有上帝是良善的。 20 你知道‘不可通奸，不可杀人，不可偷盗，不可作伪证，要孝敬父母’这些诫命”。
21 那人说：“我从小就遵行这些诫命。”
22 耶稣听了就对他说：“你还有一件事没有做，就是变卖你所有的产业，分给穷人，你必有财宝存在天上，然后你还要来跟从我。” 23 那人听了，极其忧愁，因为他非常富有。
24 耶稣见状，就说；“有钱人进上帝的国真难啊！ 25 骆驼穿过针眼比有钱人进上帝的国还容易呢！”
26 听见的人就问：“这样，谁能得救呢？”
27 耶稣回答说：“对人而言，这不可能，但对上帝而言，凡事都可能。”
28 彼得说：“你看！我们已经撇下一切来跟从你了。”
29 耶稣说：“我实在告诉你们，任何人为了上帝的国而撇下房屋、妻子、弟兄、父母或儿女， 30 今世必得百倍的奖赏，来世必得永生。”
再次预言受害和复活
31 耶稣把十二使徒带到一边，对他们说：“你们要留意，我们现在前往耶路撒冷，先知书上有关人子的记载都要应验， 32 人子将被交在外族人的手里，被他们嘲弄、虐待、吐唾沫、 33 鞭打和杀害，但第三天祂必复活。” 34 使徒却一点也不明白，因为这番话的含意是隐藏的，他们听不明白。
治愈耶利哥的瞎子
35 耶稣快到耶利哥的时候，有一个瞎子坐在路旁讨饭。 36 他听见许多人经过，就询问是怎么回事。 37 有人告诉他是拿撒勒人耶稣经过此地， 38 他就高声呼喊：“大卫的后裔耶稣啊，可怜我吧！”
39 走在前面的人责备他，让他安静，但他反而叫得更大声：“大卫的后裔啊，可怜我吧！”
40 耶稣停下脚步，命人把他带过来，然后问他： 41 “你要我为你做什么？”
他说：“主啊！我想能够看见。”
42 耶稣对他说：“你看见吧！你的信心救了你。” 43 他立刻得见光明，并跟随耶稣，一路赞美上帝。目睹这事的人也都赞美上帝。
撒该悔改
19 耶稣进了耶利哥，正从城里经过。 2 有个人名叫撒该，是税吏长，家财丰厚。 3 他想看看耶稣，可是因为周围人多，他身材矮小，无法看见。 4 他便跑到前面，爬上一棵桑树观看，因为耶稣会从那里经过。
5 耶稣走到那里，抬头招呼他说：“撒该，快下来！今天我要住在你家。”
6 撒该连忙爬下来，兴高采烈地带耶稣回家。 7 百姓见状，都埋怨说：“祂怎么到一个罪人家里作客？”
8 撒该站起来对主说：“主啊，我要把我一半的财产分给穷人。我欺骗过谁，就还谁四倍。”
9 耶稣说：“今天救恩临到这家了，因为他也是亚伯拉罕的子孙。 10 人子来是要寻找和拯救迷失的人。”
十个奴仆的比喻
11 众人在听的时候，耶稣又为他们讲了一个比喻，因为祂快到耶路撒冷了，人们以为上帝的国马上就要降临了。
12 耶稣说：“有一位贵族要到远方去受封为王，然后返回。 13 临行前，他召集了十个奴仆，发给每人一千个银币，吩咐他们，‘你们在我出门期间要用这些钱做生意。’
14 “可是他的人民却憎恨他，他们随后派一个代表团去请愿说，‘我们不要这人做我们的王。’
15 “那贵族受封为王回来后，召齐十个奴仆，想知道他们做生意赚了多少。 16 第一个奴仆上前禀告说，‘主啊，我用你给我的一千个银币赚了一万个银币。’
17 “主人说，‘好，你真是个好奴仆！你既然在小事上忠心，就派你管理十座城。’
18 “第二个奴仆上前说，‘主啊，我用你给我的一千个银币赚了五千个银币。’
19 “主人说，‘我派你管理五座城。’
20 “另一个奴仆上前说，‘主啊，这是你先前给我的一千个银币，我一直把它包在手帕里。 21 因为你很严厉，没有存还要取，没有种还要收，所以我怕你。’
22 “主人听了，对那奴仆说，‘你这个恶奴仆！我要按你自己的话定你的罪。你既然知道我很严厉，没有存还要取，没有种还要收， 23 为什么不把我的银币存进钱庄，到我回来时可以连本带利收回来？’
24 “接着，他吩咐站在旁边的奴仆，‘收回他那一千个银币，赏给那个赚了一万银币的。’
25 “他们说，‘主啊，那个人已经有一万银币了。’
26 “主人答道，‘我告诉你们，凡有的，还要给他更多；凡没有的，连他仅有的也要夺走。 27 至于那些反对我做王的仇敌，把他们捉回来，在我面前处决。’”
骑驴进耶路撒冷
28 耶稣说完这个比喻，就走在众人前面上耶路撒冷去。
29 快到橄榄山附近的伯法其和伯大尼时，耶稣派了两个门徒，说： 30 “你们去前面的村庄，进村的时候，必看见一头从来没有人骑过的驴驹拴在那里，你们把它解开牵来。 31 若有人问你们为什么把它解开，就说，‘主要用它。’”
32 两个门徒出去后，所遇见的情形正如耶稣所说的。 33 当他们解开驴驹时，主人果然问他们：“你们为什么解开驴驹？”
34 他们说：“主要用它。”
35 他们牵着驴驹回去见耶稣，又把自己的外衣搭在驴背上，扶耶稣上驴。
36 耶稣骑着驴前行，众人用外衣为祂铺路。 37 祂正走下橄榄山，将近耶路撒冷的时候，众门徒因为以往所见的神迹奇事，就欢腾起来，高声赞美上帝：
38 “奉主名来的王当受称颂！
天上有平安，至高处有荣耀！”
39 百姓中有几个法利赛人对耶稣说：“老师，你要责备你的门徒。”
40 耶稣说：“我告诉你们，如果他们闭口不言，这些石头都要呼喊了！”
为耶路撒冷哀哭
41 耶稣快到耶路撒冷时，看见那城就哀哭， 42 说：“今天你若知道那能带给你平安的事就好了！可惜这事现在是隐藏的，你看不见！ 43 因为有一天敌人要在你周围筑起壁垒把你团团围住，四面攻击你。 44 他们要把你夷为平地，毁灭你城墙里的儿女，不会留下两块叠在一起的石头，因为你没有认识到上帝眷顾你的时刻。”
耶稣洁净圣殿
45 耶稣进入圣殿赶走里面做买卖的人， 46 并对他们说：“圣经上说，‘我的殿要成为祷告的殿’，你们竟把它变成了贼窝。”

质问耶稣的权柄
20 有一天，耶稣正在圣殿里教导人、传讲福音，祭司长、律法教师和长老上前， 2 质问祂：“告诉我们，你凭什么权柄做这些事？谁授权给你了？”
3 耶稣回答说：“我也问你们一个问题。你们告诉我， 4 约翰的洗礼是从天上来的还是从人来的？”
5 他们彼此议论说：“如果我们说‘是从天上来的’，祂一定会问，‘那你们为什么不相信他？’ 6 如果我们说‘是从人来的’，百姓会拿石头打死我们，因为他们相信约翰是先知。” 7 于是，他们回答说：“我们不知道约翰的洗礼是从哪里来的。”
8 耶稣说：“我也不告诉你们我凭什么权柄做这些事。”
利欲熏心的佃户
9 接着耶稣对众人讲了个比喻：“有人开垦了一个葡萄园，把园子租给几个佃户，就出远门了。 10 到了收获的季节，他差奴仆去葡萄园向佃户收取他应得的收成，但那些佃户却把奴仆揍了一顿，使他空手而归。 11 园主又派另一个奴仆去，那些佃户照样将他殴打并羞辱一番，使他空手而归。 12 园主又派第三个奴仆去，他们又把他打伤，抛在园外。
13 “园主说，‘我该怎样办呢？不如叫我所疼爱的儿子去吧。他们大概会尊敬他。’
14 “岂料那些佃户看见来人是园主的儿子，便彼此商量说，‘这个人是产业继承人，我们把他杀掉，这葡萄园就归我们了！’ 15 于是他们把园主的儿子拖到葡萄园外杀了。
“那么，园主会怎样处治他们呢？ 16 他必来杀掉这些佃户，把葡萄园转租给别人。”
众人听了就说：“但愿这种事永远不会发生！”
17 耶稣定睛看着他们，问道：“那么，圣经上说，
“‘工匠丢弃的石头已成了房角石’，
这句话是什么意思呢？ 18 凡跌在这石头上的人，将粉身碎骨；这石头落在谁身上，将把谁砸烂。”
纳税问题
19 律法教师和祭司长听出这比喻是针对他们说的，便想立刻下手捉拿耶稣，但又害怕百姓。 20 于是，他们密切地监视耶稣，又派遣密探假装好人，想从祂的话里找把柄抓祂去见总督。
21 那些密探问耶稣：“老师，我们知道你所讲所传的道都是正确的，也知道你不看人的情面，只按真理传上帝的道。 22 那么，我们向凯撒纳税对不对呢？”
23 耶稣看破他们的阴谋， 24 就叫他们拿一个银币来，问他们：“上面刻的是谁的像和名号？”他们说：“凯撒的。”
25 耶稣说：“属于凯撒的，要给凯撒；属于上帝的，要给上帝。”
26 耶稣的回答令他们惊奇，他们无法当众找到把柄，只好闭口不言。
论死人复活
27 撒督该人向来不相信有复活的事。有几个这一派的人来问耶稣： 28 “老师，按摩西为我们写的律例，如果有人娶妻后没有孩子就死了，他的兄弟应当娶嫂嫂，替哥哥传宗接代。 29 有弟兄七人，老大结了婚，没有孩子就死了。 30 二弟、 31 三弟、一直到七弟都相继娶了嫂嫂，都没有留下孩子就死了。 32 最后那个女人也死了。 33 那么，到复活的时候，她将是谁的妻子呢？因为七个人都娶过她。”
34 耶稣说：“今世的人才有嫁娶， 35 但那些配得将来的世界、从死里复活的人也不娶也不嫁， 36 就像天使一样永远不会死。他们既然从死里复活，就是上帝的儿女。 37 在记载有关燃烧的荆棘的篇章中，摩西也证实死人会复活，因为他称主是‘亚伯拉罕的上帝，以撒的上帝，雅各的上帝’。 38 上帝不是死人的上帝，而是活人的上帝。因为在祂那里的人都是活人。”

16 Jesus told his disciples: “There was a rich man whose manager was accused of wasting his possessions.(A) 2 So he called him in and asked him, ‘What is this I hear about you? Give an account of your management, because you cannot be manager any longer.’
3 “The manager said to himself, ‘What shall I do now? My master is taking away my job. I’m not strong enough to dig, and I’m ashamed to beg— 4 I know what I’ll do so that, when I lose my job here, people will welcome me into their houses.’
5 “So he called in each one of his master’s debtors. He asked the first, ‘How much do you owe my master?’
6 “‘Nine hundred gallons[a] of olive oil,’ he replied.
“The manager told him, ‘Take your bill, sit down quickly, and make it four hundred and fifty.’
7 “Then he asked the second, ‘And how much do you owe?’
“‘A thousand bushels[b] of wheat,’ he replied.
“He told him, ‘Take your bill and make it eight hundred.’
8 “The master commended the dishonest manager because he had acted shrewdly. For the people of this world(B) are more shrewd(C) in dealing with their own kind than are the people of the light.(D) 9 I tell you, use worldly wealth(E) to gain friends for yourselves, so that when it is gone, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings.(F)
10 “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much,(G) and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. 11 So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth,(H) who will trust you with true riches? 12 And if you have not been trustworthy with someone else’s property, who will give you property of your own?
13 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”(I)
14 The Pharisees, who loved money,(J) heard all this and were sneering at Jesus.(K) 15 He said to them, “You are the ones who justify yourselves(L) in the eyes of others, but God knows your hearts.(M) What people value highly is detestable in God’s sight.

Sin, Faith, Duty
17 Jesus said to his disciples: “Things that cause people to stumble(AC) are bound to come, but woe to anyone through whom they come.(AD) 2 It would be better for them to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around their neck than to cause one of these little ones(AE) to stumble.(AF) 3 So watch yourselves.
“If your brother or sister[c] sins against you, rebuke them;(AG) and if they repent, forgive them.(AH) 4 Even if they sin against you seven times in a day and seven times come back to you saying ‘I repent,’ you must forgive them.”(AI)
5 The apostles(AJ) said to the Lord,(AK) “Increase our faith!”
6 He replied, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed,(AL) you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it will obey you.(AM)
7 “Suppose one of you has a servant plowing or looking after the sheep. Will he say to the servant when he comes in from the field, ‘Come along now and sit down to eat’? 8 Won’t he rather say, ‘Prepare my supper, get yourself ready and wait on me(AN) while I eat and drink; after that you may eat and drink’? 9 Will he thank the servant because he did what he was told to do? 10 So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.’”(AO)
Jesus Heals Ten Men With Leprosy
11 Now on his way to Jerusalem,(AP) Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee.(AQ) 12 As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy[d](AR) met him. They stood at a distance(AS) 13 and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master,(AT) have pity on us!”
14 When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.”(AU) And as they went, they were cleansed.
15 One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God(AV) in a loud voice. 16 He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.(AW)
17 Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? 18 Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?” 19 Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”(AX)
The Coming of the Kingdom of God(AY)
20 Once, on being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come,(AZ) Jesus replied, “The coming of the kingdom of God is not something that can be observed, 21 nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’(BA) because the kingdom of God is in your midst.”[e]
22 Then he said to his disciples, “The time is coming when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man,(BB) but you will not see it.(BC) 23 People will tell you, ‘There he is!’ or ‘Here he is!’ Do not go running off after them.(BD) 24 For the Son of Man in his day[f] will be like the lightning,(BE) which flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other. 25 But first he must suffer many things(BF) and be rejected(BG) by this generation.(BH)
26 “Just as it was in the days of Noah,(BI) so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. 27 People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.
28 “It was the same in the days of Lot.(BJ) People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. 29 But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.
30 “It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed.(BK) 31 On that day no one who is on the housetop, with possessions inside, should go down to get them. The Parable of the Persistent Widow
18 Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.(BQ) 2 He said: “In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared what people thought. 3 And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice(BR) against my adversary.’
4 “For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or care what people think, 5 yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually come and attack me!’”(BS)
6 And the Lord(BT) said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. 7 And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out(BU) to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? 8 I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man(BV) comes,(BW) will he find faith on the earth?”
The Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector
9 To some who were confident of their own righteousness(BX) and looked down on everyone else,(BY) Jesus told this parable: 10 “Two men went up to the temple to pray,(BZ) one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood by himself(CA) and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. 12 I fast(CB) twice a week and give a tenth(CC) of all I get.’
13 “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast(CD) and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’(CE)
14 “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”(CF)
The Little Children and Jesus(CG)
15 People were also bringing babies to Jesus for him to place his hands on them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked them. 16 But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 17 Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child(CH) will never enter it.”
The Rich and the Kingdom of God(CI)
18 A certain ruler asked him, “Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”(CJ)
19 “Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone. 20 You know the commandments: ‘You shall not commit adultery, you shall not murder, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, honor your father and mother.’[h]”(CK)
21 “All these I have kept since I was a boy,” he said.
22 When Jesus heard this, he said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell everything you have and give to the poor,(CL) and you will have treasure in heaven.(CM) Then come, follow me.”
23 When he heard this, he became very sad, because he was very wealthy. 24 Jesus looked at him and said, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!(CN) 25 Indeed, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”
26 Those who heard this asked, “Who then can be saved?”
27 Jesus replied, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”(CO)
28 Peter said to him, “We have left all we had to follow you!”(CP)
29 “Truly I tell you,” Jesus said to them, “no one who has left home or wife or brothers or sisters or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God 30 will fail to receive many times as much in this age, and in the age to come(CQ) eternal life.”(CR)
Jesus Predicts His Death a Third Time(CS)
31 Jesus took the Twelve aside and told them, “We are going up to Jerusalem,(CT) and everything that is written by the prophets(CU) about the Son of Man(CV) will be fulfilled. 32 He will be delivered over to the Gentiles.(CW) They will mock him, insult him and spit on him; 33 they will flog him(CX) and kill him.(CY) On the third day(CZ) he will rise again.”(DA)
34 The disciples did not understand any of this. Its meaning was hidden from them, and they did not know what he was talking about.(DB)
A Blind Beggar Receives His Sight(DC)
35 As Jesus approached Jericho,(DD) a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging. 36 When he heard the crowd going by, he asked what was happening. 37 They told him, “Jesus of Nazareth is passing by.”(DE)
38 He called out, “Jesus, Son of David,(DF) have mercy(DG) on me!”
39 Those who led the way rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”(DH)
40 Jesus stopped and ordered the man to be brought to him. When he came near, Jesus asked him, 41 “What do you want me to do for you?”
“Lord, I want to see,” he replied.
42 Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your faith has healed you.”(DI) 43 Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus, praising God. When all the people saw it, they also praised God.(DJ)
Zacchaeus the Tax Collector
19 Jesus entered Jericho(DK) and was passing through. 2 A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy. 3 He wanted to see who Jesus was, but because he was short he could not see over the crowd. 4 So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig(DL) tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way.(DM)
5 When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.” 6 So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly.
7 All the people saw this and began to mutter, “He has gone to be the guest of a sinner.”(DN)
8 But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord,(DO) “Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything,(DP) I will pay back four times the amount.”(DQ)
9 Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham.(DR) 10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”(DS)
The Parable of the Ten Minas(DT)
11 While they were listening to this, he went on to tell them a parable, because he was near Jerusalem and the people thought that the kingdom of God(DU) was going to appear at once.(DV) 12 He said: “A man of noble birth went to a distant country to have himself appointed king and then to return. 13 So he called ten of his servants(DW) and gave them ten minas.[i] ‘Put this money to work,’ he said, ‘until I come back.’
14 “But his subjects hated him and sent a delegation after him to say, ‘We don’t want this man to be our king.’
15 “He was made king, however, and returned home. Then he sent for the servants to whom he had given the money, in order to find out what they had gained with it.
16 “The first one came and said, ‘Sir, your mina has earned ten more.’
17 “‘Well done, my good servant!’(DX) his master replied. ‘Because you have been trustworthy in a very small matter, take charge of ten cities.’(DY)
18 “The second came and said, ‘Sir, your mina has earned five more.’
19 “His master answered, ‘You take charge of five cities.’
20 “Then another servant came and said, ‘Sir, here is your mina; I have kept it laid away in a piece of cloth. 21 I was afraid of you, because you are a hard man. You take out what you did not put in and reap what you did not sow.’(DZ)
22 “His master replied, ‘I will judge you by your own words,(EA) you wicked servant! You knew, did you, that I am a hard man, taking out what I did not put in, and reaping what I did not sow?(EB) 23 Why then didn’t you put my money on deposit, so that when I came back, I could have collected it with interest?’
24 “Then he said to those standing by, ‘Take his mina away from him and give it to the one who has ten minas.’
25 “‘Sir,’ they said, ‘he already has ten!’
26 “He replied, ‘I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but as for the one who has nothing, even what they have will be taken away.(EC) 27 But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them—bring them here and kill them in front of me.’”
Jesus Comes to Jerusalem as King(ED)(EE)
28 After Jesus had said this, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.(EF) 29 As he approached Bethphage and Bethany(EG) at the hill called the Mount of Olives,(EH) he sent two of his disciples, saying to them, 30 “Go to the village ahead of you, and as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. 31 If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ say, ‘The Lord needs it.’”
32 Those who were sent ahead went and found it just as he had told them.(EI) 33 As they were untying the colt, its owners asked them, “Why are you untying the colt?”
34 They replied, “The Lord needs it.”
35 They brought it to Jesus, threw their cloaks on the colt and put Jesus on it. 36 As he went along, people spread their cloaks(EJ) on the road.
37 When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives,(EK) the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen:
“Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”(EM)
39 Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!”(EN)
40 “I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.”(EO)
41 As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it(EP) 42 and said, “If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace—but now it is hidden from your eyes. 43 The days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment against you and encircle you and hem you in on every side.(EQ) 44 They will dash you to the ground, you and the children within your walls.(ER) They will not leave one stone on another,(ES) because you did not recognize the time of God’s coming(ET) to you.”
Jesus at the Temple(EU)
45 When Jesus entered the temple courts, he began to drive out those who were selling. 46 “It is written,” he said to them, “‘My house will be a house of prayer’[k];(EV) but you have made it ‘a den of robbers.’[l]”(EW)
47 Every day he was teaching at the temple.(EX) But the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the leaders among the people were trying to kill him.(EY) 48 Yet they could not find any way to do it, because all the people hung on his words.
The Authority of Jesus Questioned(EZ)
20 One day as Jesus was teaching the people in the temple courts(FA) and proclaiming the good news,(FB) the chief priests and the teachers of the law, together with the elders, came up to him. 2 “Tell us by what authority you are doing these things,” they said. “Who gave you this authority?”(FC)
3 He replied, “I will also ask you a question. Tell me: 4 John’s baptism(FD)—was it from heaven, or of human origin?”
5 They discussed it among themselves and said, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will ask, ‘Why didn’t you believe him?’ 6 But if we say, ‘Of human origin,’ all the people(FE) will stone us, because they are persuaded that John was a prophet.”(FF)
7 So they answered, “We don’t know where it was from.”
8 Jesus said, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.”
The Parable of the Tenants(FG)
9 He went on to tell the people this parable: “A man planted a vineyard,(FH) rented it to some farmers and went away for a long time.(FI) 10 At harvest time he sent a servant to the tenants so they would give him some of the fruit of the vineyard. But the tenants beat him and sent him away empty-handed. 11 He sent another servant, but that one also they beat and treated shamefully and sent away empty-handed. 12 He sent still a third, and they wounded him and threw him out.
13 “Then the owner of the vineyard said, ‘What shall I do? I will send my son, whom I love;(FJ) perhaps they will respect him.’
14 “But when the tenants saw him, they talked the matter over. ‘This is the heir,’ they said. ‘Let’s kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.’ 15 So they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him.
“What then will the owner of the vineyard do to them? 16 He will come and kill those tenants(FK) and give the vineyard to others.”
When the people heard this, they said, “God forbid!”
17 Jesus looked directly at them and asked, “Then what is the meaning of that which is written:
18 Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces; anyone on whom it falls will be crushed.”(FM)
19 The teachers of the law and the chief priests looked for a way to arrest him(FN) immediately, because they knew he had spoken this parable against them. But they were afraid of the people.(FO)
Paying Taxes to Caesar(FP)
20 Keeping a close watch on him, they sent spies, who pretended to be sincere. They hoped to catch Jesus in something he said,(FQ) so that they might hand him over to the power and authority of the governor.(FR) 21 So the spies questioned him: “Teacher, we know that you speak and teach what is right, and that you do not show partiality but teach the way of God in accordance with the truth.(FS) 22 Is it right for us to pay taxes to Caesar or not?”
23 He saw through their duplicity and said to them, 24 “Show me a denarius. Whose image and inscription are on it?”
“Caesar’s,” they replied.
25 He said to them, “Then give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s,(FT) and to God what is God’s.”
26 They were unable to trap him in what he had said there in public. And astonished by his answer, they became silent.
The Resurrection and Marriage(FU)
27 Some of the Sadducees,(FV) who say there is no resurrection,(FW) came to Jesus with a question. 28 “Teacher,” they said, “Moses wrote for us that if a man’s brother dies and leaves a wife but no children, the man must marry the widow and raise up offspring for his brother.(FX) 29 Now there were seven brothers. The first one married a woman and died childless. 30 The second 31 and then the third married her, and in the same way the seven died, leaving no children. 32 Finally, the woman died too. 33 Now then, at the resurrection whose wife will she be, since the seven were married to her?”
34 Jesus replied, “The people of this age marry and are given in marriage. 35 But those who are considered worthy of taking part in the age to come(FY) and in the resurrection from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage, 36 and they can no longer die; for they are like the angels. They are God’s children,(FZ) since they are children of the resurrection. 37 But in the account of the burning bush, even Moses showed that the dead rise, for he calls the Lord ‘the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’[n](GA) 38 He is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for to him all are alive.”
39 Some of the teachers of the law responded, “Well said, teacher!” 40 And no one dared to ask him any more questions.(GB)
Whose Son Is the Messiah?(GC)
41 Then Jesus said to them, “Why is it said that the Messiah is the son of David?(GD) 42 David himself declares in the Book of Psalms:
“‘The Lord said to my Lord:
“Sit at my right hand
43 until I make your enemies
a footstool for your feet.”’[o](GE)
44 David calls him ‘Lord.’ How then can he be his son?”
Warning Against the Teachers of the Law
45 While all the people were listening, Jesus said to his disciples, 46 “Beware of the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets.(GF) 47 They devour widows’ houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. These men will be punished most severely.”
