^45 (A)But they did not understand this saying, and ^(B)it was concealed from them, so that they might not perceive it. And they were afraid to ask him about this saying.

^34 (A)But they understood none of these things. ^(B)This saying was hidden from them, and they did not grasp what was said.

^16 (A)His disciples did not understand these things at first, but ^(B)when Jesus was glorified, then ^(C)they remembered that these things had been written about him and had been done to him.

⁵⁰ And ^(A)they did not understand the saying that he spoke to them.

^32 (A)But they did not understand the saying, and were afraid to ask him.

¹⁷ So ^(A)some of his disciples said to one another, “What is this that he says to us, ^(B)‘A little while, and you will not see me, and again a little while, and you will see me’; and, ^(C)‘because I am going to the Father’?” ¹⁸ So they were saying, “What does he mean by ‘a little while’? ^(D)We do not know what he is talking about.”

¹⁴ But ^(A)their minds were ^(B)hardened. For to this day, ^(C)when they read ^(D)the old covenant, that same veil remains unlifted, because only through Christ is it taken away. ¹⁵ Yes, to this day whenever Moses is read a veil lies over their hearts. ¹⁶ But when ^(E)one^[a] turns to the Lord, ^(F)the veil is removed.

^5 (A)Thomas said to him, “Lord, ^(B)we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?”

³⁴ So the crowd answered him, “We have heard from the Law that ^(A)the Christ remains forever. How can you say that ^(B)the Son of Man must be lifted up? Who is this Son of Man?”

^10 (A)So they kept the matter to themselves, ^(B)questioning what this rising from the dead might mean.
