¹⁵ As for that in the good soil, they are those who, hearing the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and ^(A)bear fruit ^(B)with patience.

³⁶ For ^(A)you have need of endurance, so that ^(B)when you have done the will of God you may ^(C)receive what is promised.

⁶ which has come to you, as indeed ^(A)in the whole world it is ^(B)bearing fruit and increasing—as it also does among you, since the day you ^(C)heard it and understood ^(D)the grace of God in truth,

²² But ^(A)the fruit of the Spirit is ^(B)love, joy, peace, patience, ^(C)kindness, goodness, faithfulness, ^23 (D)gentleness, ^(E)self-control; ^(F)against such things there is no law. ²⁴ And those who belong to Christ Jesus ^(G)have crucified the flesh with its ^(H)passions and desires.

²⁵ If we live by the Spirit, ^(I)let us also keep in step with the Spirit. ^26 (J)Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

³ And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we ^(A)keep his commandments.

Patience in Suffering

⁷ Be patient, therefore, brothers,^[a] until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives ^(A)the early and the late rains. ⁸ You also, be patient. ^(B)Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord ^(C)is at hand.

²² But be ^(A)doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. ²³ For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. ²⁴ For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. ²⁵ But the one who looks into the perfect law, ^(B)the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, ^(C)he will be blessed in his doing.

¹⁰ so as ^(A)to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, ^(B)fully pleasing to him: ^(C)bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;

¹¹ filled ^(A)with the fruit of righteousness that comes ^(B)through Jesus Christ, ^(C)to the glory and praise of God.
