^18 (A)While walking by ^(B)the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon (who is called Peter) and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen.

13 That same day Jesus went out of the house ^(A)and sat beside the sea. ² And great crowds gathered about him, ^(B)so that he got into a boat and sat down. And the whole crowd stood on the beach.

^2 (A)Early in the morning he came again to the temple. All the people came to him, and ^(B)he sat down and taught them.

⁴¹ He first found his own brother Simon and said to him, “We have found ^(A)the Messiah” (which means Christ). ⁴² He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon the son of ^(B)John. You shall be called ^(C)Cephas” (which means ^(D)Peter^[a]).
