The Genealogy of Jesus Christ^(A)

²³ Now Jesus Himself began His ministry at ^(B)about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) ^(C)the son of Joseph, the son of Heli,

^55 (A)Is this not the carpenter’s son? Is not His mother called Mary? And ^(B)His brothers ^(C)James, ^[a]Joses, Simon, and Judas?

^3 (A)from thirty years old and above, even to fifty years old, all who enter the service to do the work in the tabernacle of meeting.

Prologue

1 The former account I made, O ^(A)Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,

⁴² And they said, ^(A)“Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How is it then that He says, ‘I have come down from heaven’?”

²² So all bore witness to Him, and ^(A)marveled at the gracious words which proceeded out of His mouth. And they said, ^(B)“Is this not Joseph’s son?”

³ Is this not the carpenter, the Son of Mary, and ^(A)brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And are not His sisters here with us?” So they ^(B)were offended at Him.

^17 (A)From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, ^(B)“Repent, for the kingdom of heaven ^[a]is at hand.”

¹⁶ And Jacob begot Joseph the husband of ^(A)Mary, of whom was born Jesus who is called Christ.

⁴⁶ Joseph was thirty years old when he ^(A)stood before Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh, and went throughout all the land of Egypt.
