^34 [a]Then Jesus said, “Father, ^(A)forgive them, for ^(B)they do not know what they do.”

And ^(C)they divided His garments and cast lots.

^44 [a]But I say to you, ^(A)love your enemies, bless those who curse you, ^(B)do good to those who hate you, and pray ^(C)for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,

⁶⁰ Then he knelt down and cried out with a loud voice, ^(A)“Lord, do not charge them with this sin.” And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

^9 (A)not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary ^(B)blessing, knowing that you were called to this, ^(C)that you may inherit a blessing.

²⁰ For ^(A)what credit is it if, when you are beaten for your faults, you take it patiently? But when you do good and suffer, if you take it patiently, this is commendable before God. ²¹ For ^(B)to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for ^[a]us, ^(C)leaving ^[b]us an example, that you should follow His steps:

^23 (E)who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but ^(F)committed Himself to Him who judges righteously;

^14 (A)Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.

Love Your Enemies^(A)

^27 (B)“But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, ^28 (C)bless those who curse you, and ^(D)pray for those who spitefully use you.

⁸ which none of the rulers of this age knew; for ^(A)had they known, they would not have ^(B)crucified the Lord of glory.
