¹⁵ for I will give you a mouth and wisdom ^(A)which all your adversaries will not be able to contradict or ^[a]resist.

⁹ Then the Lord put forth His hand and ^(A)touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me:

¹⁹ and for me, that utterance may be given to me, ^(A)that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel,

¹² For the Holy Spirit will ^(A)teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.”

^3 (A)meanwhile praying also for us, that God would ^(B)open to us a door for the word, to speak ^(C)the ^[a]mystery of Christ, ^(D)for which I am also in chains, ⁴ that I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.

¹⁰ And ^(A)they were not able to resist the wisdom and the Spirit by which he spoke.

¹⁶ At my first defense no one stood with me, but all forsook me. ^(A)May it not be charged against them.

The Lord Is Faithful

^17 (B)But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, ^(C)so that the message might be preached fully through me, and that all the Gentiles might hear. Also I was delivered ^(D)out of the mouth of the lion.

^5 (A)If any of you lacks wisdom, ^(B)let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and ^(C)it will be given to him.

⁴⁵ And ^(A)He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures.

¹¹ So the Lord said to him, ^(A)“Who has made man’s mouth? Or who makes the mute, the deaf, the seeing, or the blind? Have not I, the Lord? ¹² Now therefore, go, and I will be ^(B)with your mouth and teach you what you shall say.”
