^45 (A)And in the hearing of all the people he said to his disciples,

²⁰ As for those who persist in sin, ^(A)rebuke them in the presence of all, ^(B)so that the rest may stand in fear.

^38 (A)And in his teaching he said, “Beware of the scribes, who like to walk around in long robes and like greetings in the marketplaces ³⁹ and have the best seats in the synagogues and ^(B)the places of honor at feasts,

³⁴ And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him ^(A)deny himself and ^(B)take up his cross and follow me.

^5 (A)They do all their deeds ^(B)to be seen by others. For they make ^(C)their phylacteries broad and ^(D)their fringes long, ⁶ and they ^(E)love the place of honor at feasts and ^(F)the best seats in the synagogues ⁷ and ^(G)greetings in ^(H)the marketplaces and being called ^(I)rabbi^[a] by others.
