²⁵ Now there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon, and this man was ^(A)righteous and ^(B)devout, ^(C)waiting for ^(D)the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him.

⁶ And they were both ^(A)righteous before God, walking ^(B)blamelessly in all the commandments and statutes of the Lord.

³⁸ And coming up at that very hour she began to give thanks to God and to speak of him to all who were ^(A)waiting for the redemption of Jerusalem.

¹¹ For ^(A)the grace of God ^(B)has appeared, bringing salvation ^(C)for all people, ¹² training us to renounce ungodliness and ^(D)worldly passions, and ^(E)to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in ^(F)the present age, ^13 (G)waiting for our blessed ^(H)hope, the ^(I)appearing of the glory of our great ^(J)God and Savior Jesus Christ, ^14 (K)who gave himself for us to ^(L)redeem us from all lawlessness and ^(M)to purify for himself ^(N)a people for his own possession who are ^(O)zealous for good works.

⁴³ Joseph of Arimathea, ^(A)a respected member of the council, who ^(B)was also himself looking for the kingdom of God, took courage and went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus.

⁴¹ And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the baby leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth ^(A)was filled with the Holy Spirit,

²¹ For ^(A)no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God ^(B)as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

⁵¹ who had not consented to their decision and action; and he ^(A)was looking for the kingdom of God.
