³¹ On that day, ^(A)let the one who is on ^(B)the housetop, with his goods in the house, not come down to take them away, and likewise let the one who is in the field not turn back.

The Abomination of Desolation

¹⁴ “But when you see ^(A)the abomination of desolation standing where he ought not to be (^(B)let the reader understand), then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. ^15 (C)Let the one who is on ^(D)the housetop not go down, nor enter his house, to take anything out, ¹⁶ and let the one who is in the field not turn back to take his cloak.

⁵ And ^(A)do you seek great things for yourself? Seek them not, for behold, ^(B)I am bringing disaster upon all flesh, declares the Lord. But I will give you ^(C)your life as a prize of war in all places to which you may go.”

⁷ But ^(A)whatever gain I had, ^(B)I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. ⁸ Indeed, I count everything as loss because of ^(C)the surpassing worth of ^(D)knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I ^(E)have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ

²¹ Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, and let those who are inside the city depart, and let not those who are out in the country enter it,

^17 (A)Let the one who is on ^(B)the housetop not go down to take what is in his house, ¹⁸ and let the one who is in the field not turn back to take his cloak. ¹⁹ And ^(C)alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days! ²⁰ Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a Sabbath. ²¹ For then there will be ^(D)great tribulation, ^(E)such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be.

²⁶ For ^(A)what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or ^(B)what shall a man give in return for his soul?

Do Not Be Anxious

^25 (A)“Therefore I tell you, ^(B)do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?

⁴ Then Satan answered the Lord and said, “Skin for skin! All that a man has he will give for his life.
