¹⁵ So he went and hired himself out to one of the local inhabitants who sent him to his farm to feed the pigs.^{[a] 16} He would have willingly filled his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything.

¹⁷ “Then he came to his senses and said, ‘How many of my father’s hired workers have more food than they can consume, while here I am, dying of hunger.
