²⁰ And behold, ^(A)you will be silent and unable to speak until the day that these things take place, because you did not believe my words, which will be fulfilled in their time.”

²⁶ And I will make your tongue cling to the roof of your mouth, so that ^(A)you shall be mute and unable to reprove them, ^(B)for they are a rebellious house.

²⁷ On that day your mouth ^(A)will be opened to the fugitive, and you shall speak and be no longer mute. ^(B)So you will be a sign to them, and ^(C)they will know that I am the Lord.”

^19 (A)Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent.

¹⁸ so that by two unchangeable things, in which ^(A)it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope ^(B)set before us.

²² And when he came out, he was unable to speak to them, and they realized that he had seen a vision in ^(A)the temple. And ^(B)he kept making signs to them and remained mute.

^2 (A)in hope of eternal life, which God, ^(B)who never lies, ^(C)promised ^(D)before the ages began^[a]

for ^(C)he cannot deny himself.

⁶² And ^(A)they made signs to his father, inquiring what he wanted him to be called. ⁶³ And he asked for ^(B)a writing tablet and wrote, ^(C)“His name is John.” And they all wondered.

⁴⁵ And ^(A)blessed is she who believed that there would be^[a] a fulfillment of what was spoken to her from the Lord.”
