¹² And Zechariah was troubled when he saw him, and ^(A)fear fell upon him.

²² Then Gideon perceived that he was the angel of the Lord. And Gideon said, ^(A)“Alas, O Lord God! For now I have seen the angel of the Lord face to face.”

²² And Manoah said to his wife, ^(A)“We shall surely die, for we have seen God.”

⁹ And an angel of the Lord ^(A)appeared to them, and ^(B)the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear. ¹⁰ And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all ^(C)the people.

^17 (A)When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But ^(B)he laid his right hand on me, ^(C)saying, “Fear not, ^(D)I am the first and the last,

⁴ And he stared at him in terror and said, “What is it, Lord?” And he said to him, “Your prayers and your alms ^(A)have ascended ^(B)as a memorial before God.

²⁹ But ^(A)she was greatly troubled at the saying, and tried to discern what sort of greeting this might be.

⁵ And ^(A)entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, ^(B)dressed in ^(C)a white robe, and ^(D)they were alarmed.

^7 (A)And I, Daniel, alone saw the vision, for the men who were with me did not see the vision, but a great trembling fell upon them, and they fled to hide themselves.
